Okay Zuko writer au but also with pining guard who isn't always tje biggest Basco fan because he doesn't really like sad stories. But Basco is a versatile writer and has published a few romantic works as well. Guard find inspiration from it and tries to woe Zuko with tips from thise books. Problem is that Zuko thinks that pining guard has found out that he is Dante Basco and he keeps making references to his work.

Zuko is a very indulgent writer and his works would be full of his romantic preferences and dreams. So even if he’s on-edge and suspicious, he’s also very flustered

well if you’re stressed abt writing that fic, why not tell us a bit abt it instead? might help creatively and also I’m sure people would love to help however they can!!

this is for the writer! zuko au and actor! sokka au. i have the barest of bones for ideas for this au haha

- so zuko is probably trying to break into the tv writing world 

- he’s probably interning for a show currently (bringing coffee to the writers, printing, etc.)

     - most likely he ignores the other interns, makes extra copies of the script     they’re working on that week and pretends that he’s an official writer for the     show too

- one of the small reoccurring characters is sokka and zuko is absolutely in love with him 

- zuko tries to keep his head down for the most part, tries to avoid sokka to spare himself from embarrassing himself 

- he works practically day and night (any time that he isn’t busy) on his tv show to make it perfect and trying to write a character sokka would act for because.... well not because he’s a simp but.... simp 

- sokka actually see’s the hand written notes zuko leaves for himself on his desk for character arcs and story structure and is in love with his idea

- zuko bases some characters off of his family members, and uses the show a bit as his venting place 

- sometimes sokka will leave notes for zuko (just some more ideas, jokes, whatever comes to mind) 

     - he’s actually very skilled at copying people’s handwriting 

    - zuko’s a bit freaked out by these extra notes, but he chalks them up to him     being tired and forgetting that he wrote them for himself 

- zuko doesn’t think that sokka, his favorite actor/crush, knows he exists, but sokka actually does (just doesn’t know his name yet, sokka just calls him grumpy writer) 

- zuko also works long hours cleaning up after the writers and using the empty writer room so he can focus and feel like a real tv writer 

- sokka is waiting for the day that zuko asks him to act in his show (he knows that zuko wants him because the note that consistently stays on his desk says “ask sokka to be main chara. dont be nervous. he’s nice”)

after writing this post about writer zuko, i started thinking about how he’d probably drink a lot of wine and wear turtle necks and would maybe take his dates on garden walks during golden hour, so i had to draw it

going thru the writer!zuko tag and: "He’s this close to converting the Jasmine Dragon partially into a Dante Basco museum" Are you saying the Jasmine Dragon DOESN'T become the first of many combination bookshop and cafes?

This would make Zuko love the Jasmine Dragon even more tbh. If he ignores the Dante Basco corner, that is.

Sokka/Zuko, but it's enemies to friends to mutal pining to enemies again to lovers because Sokka finds out that Zuko's Dante Bosco and everyone else knew, AND Zuko just let Sokka keep gushing about Dante's work to Zuko and Sokka swears that he'll never forgive Zuko 1/2

2/2 (at first Sokka's very embarrassed but then he decides to lean into it and suddenly Zuko has regrets because he's so used to repressing everything he doesn't know how to handle someone showing him affection openly (but he also loves it)

As soon as Sokka gets over his embarrassed rage, he thinks, why should he stop being Dante Basco’s number one fan? Sokka probably already has all the books (signed, because he demanded that Zuko use his Fire Lord influence to get him autographed copies). He probably has merch too. Why let all that go to waste just because his friend is a lying liar who lies?

And the way Zuko blushes and squirms with embarrassment whenever Sokka goes on long admiring tangents about his writing is the sweetest revenge.

In the Dante Basco Inversion AU where Everyone Knows, do the citizens of the Fire Nation keep it a secret from the other nations? Does Zuko’s identify spread through the Fire Nation rumor mill? Does everyone know he was referencing Sokka in one of his books (and his Big Gay Crush)?

It’s common knowledge in the Fire Nation. Less so in other places. And everyone is PAINFULLY aware of the true source of Zuko’s inspiration. The cruel father figures that crop up in every other book? Tea as a constant symbol for home? The beefy Water Tribe warrior the protag is thirsting over? Hes not subtle.

But my question is this: does ZUKO know that everyone knows? Or are they all humouring him?

modern writer au: someone sends an anon message to zuko saying sokka understands the source material much better and zuko responds with several paragraphs about how he's got a closer grip on cannon characterisation but that sokka's much better at capturing the general tone of the world and with world building

Someone sends screenshots of this exchange to Sokka. Somehow he manages to be both offended and flattered at once.
