So, don’t usually promote on here - that’s not what I do (so please don’t start flooding me with stuff to promote). But this looked like a legitimate site which serves as a writer’s support forum. It’s got resources and encouragement for writers. If you join this forum, please let me know what you think. Good or bad.
So, a story of mine, a steampunk romance called 'The Account of McConnell’s Premium Hospitality Automaton A_09' got mentioned in a professional writer's magazine - in an article about interesting opening paragraphs to stories.
And I had absolutely no idea about it, untill I opened the magazine while on a coffee break at work.
I freaked the hell out. Squealed, screamed, jumped up and down, ran about telling all my co-workers...Writer's Forum is a big, grown-up writer's magazine, that people who write for a living get mentioned in.
And all the while, I'm thinking; "Literally the only reason this story was created was because I was on a massive Steam Powered Giraffe binge at the time, and writing 2,000-odd words about steampunk helped me concentrate on other things...like housework."
Thanks, SPG!! :P
