Of a lousy writer
My writing skills are very lousy
The thought of putting pen to paper makes me drowsy
I mostly never know what to say
Of veritable virtues and vindictive vices
Or wondrous joys and existential crises
I do get interested by things around
Like the Malaysian flight that drowned?
Or Russia's gaining of ground
And the movie that I recently watched
Also the story of that amazing scotch
Opinions do begin to form within
But never make past the resting bin
As soon as the idea takes its flight
My mind gets filled with horrendous fright
I begin to scare the critics constructive
Their nasty comments and judgment disruptive
What would they think of my lack of knack?
My dreadful gibberish, my terrible slack?
Hence I give up way too soon
Kill the butterfly in the cocoon
There are others who share my fear I hope?
Who don't take chances and just elope?
How do you overcome these irrational thoughts?
Accept the critics as guiding lots?
For I want to talk about things vivid
To bask in ink and stop being timid
Strength of will is what I wish
The desire to serve a literary dish
I hope my mindset begins to change
And I man up to write on topics strange
