wrong way home was definitely not what i thought it was going to be, but i adored it all the same

it was really really cute honestly. tbh i'm not sure how this classifies as a dark romance compared to literally all the other ones i have read, but hey. it was a very fun read.

but truly i need to get back to reading toxic stuff. time to scroll thru my dark romance collection to find something else to read until i pass out

Currently working on Skip (alien anthro cat) and Canter (regular anthro cat)'s characterhub profiles, so have the backstory blurb I've finally gotten into words for Skippy!

No one's entirely sure where Skip came from, but a few aliens were seen in town a couple days before a little kitten was dropped on the doorstep of a resident. None of the residents at the time had the resources, skills, time, or attention needed to devote to a baby! They passed Skip around as-needed (in a loop of a few specific houses) to make sure they could get proper care without fully depleting any one person's resources. In that way, Skip was raised by the whole town. 

Since Skip grew up in a small town not far from where Canter grew up, they spent a lot of time together! They had very different childhoods, so they had arguments and tended to get jealous of each other. Still, they grew into good friends.

The story begins with Canter showing Skip around the forest beside his hometown- it's on the opposite side of the town, which is comparably huge, so Skip had never been in the area before. It isn't mentioned immediately, but Skip's getting the tour because they're considering moving into a house of their own. Knowing their love of nature, Canter wanted to show them the beautiful forest they could be living beside.

They get lost on the way back, however, as the forest shifts and changes throughout the day. Not long into the story, the two guys fall into a creek and get separated. They're washed away and the adventure begins.
