Within this article as well as the videos, a point was brought up which I feel is valid when it comes to knowing what and what not to post. The article states that laws, "Protect the "expression," but not the facts or ideas that underlie the expression."
What comes to mind when I think of this is a love song. Every artist, composer, writer, or even film maker has written a work solely based upon their depiction of love. If you were to take away every song from your I-tunes library that deals with love, then you may be left with about two songs. So what I am saying is that this idea to protect the expression, as opposed to the message behind it, is a good point.
We are not going to forbid those songs about love just because someone else has written about it, because frankly, I think we would run out of things to write about. Having the actual song lyrics "stolen," and re- used would be considered unlawful because how would you feel if you were to write a blog such as this, and then see the exact text appear again by someone else? Not too good. But again, we all know what plagiarism is and is not, but as for the sharing of videos, images, and good works of art, that could be considered helpful.
I am not saying that we post them as our own, but with proper credit, they would help our society especially because we are solely based on collaboration. Think of it this way: when someone tells you a story, do you not often think of another one related to you and want to express it? This is just as some artist have thier own love stories that they want to share. Maybe not exact, but I like so many others need examples.
