So I clearly didn’t write much zarry fic this year (I blame the political climate, my bipolar depression, and my own lack of creativity). But it wasn’t a total wash! I did put out a monster of a fic, a fun lighthearted fic, and a new chapter to an old favorite. Here’s my 2017:

Be Still Words: 150,332 A Detective Zayn AU that features a murder, a mystery, and a whole lot of angst. Did Harry do it?

We See What We Want To See Words: 25,442 Two married strangers meet in a hotel bar. They get a room together and see where the night takes them.

Wash You Away Words: 58,125 Harry can see ghosts. Zayn has ghosts of his own. A new chapter to my Sixth Sense AU, to see where Zayn and Louis came from.

"Harry presses his face into the delicate skin between Zayn’s armpit and chest, like he’s been waiting to do it all night. He inhales, his eyes shut tight, and Zayn feels the tickle of his eyelashes. His damp eyelashes. And that’s when Zayn knows, when he knows for certain, that the night is over. That whatever they started at the bar, whatever they decided to do, it’s done. They have to be real people again."

Awww I love this one. (I wish more people would read it! I’m super proud of the end result!!!!) But this part, I really wanted to show intimacy on a deeper level. Don’t know about you, but I don’t go pressing my face near anyone’s armpit unless I truly love and adore them. Harry needed a moment with Zayn that showed it was MORE, you know what I mean? This is where you see another crack in the facade, where you realize, wow these people are way more intimate than I thought they’d be. And it was also a moment for Harry to be vulnerable. He’s quite the hot head in this fic, so it was a time for him to be super open and honest without actually saying anything. Notice how Zayn knows right away what it means, too. He feels Harry’s damp eyelashes and immediately knows what Harry is thinking. INTIMACY!

Grace LISTEN I’ve been doing some re reading and do u realize in We See What We Want to See there’s this line where Harry goes “We both know I’m a pain in the ass who can’t admit when he’s wrong.”?? So just accept you’re Harry’s ghost writer already (but seriously you’re a genius and ily)

I didn’t remember/realize this and now I am reeling........

the amount of times I have inadvertently predicted the future, it’s like.........

Hey!!! I love wswwwts so much!! How did u come up with the idea? Is there any chance for a sequel/lil 1shot?? And if youll write zarry would u consider writing something kinda fluffy domestic au?? And can't wait for next ttida, its soo gooood! Take care :)

the title comes from "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" by my queen Celine Dion. and that song sort of inspired the whole thing lol. Britt and I talked it out before I wrote it so i’m sure she was a major influence. probably her idea entirely.

no plans for a sequel. and maybe something domestic later, who knows. i’m so focused on TTIDA idk what would come in the future.

So, I'm reading We See What We Want To See, and I was listening an album on Spotify and it ended and it just went into radio and I kept reading without really listening to the songs (like when you hear music you don't really know without paying attention). And right when the scene where they fight and Harry calls Zayn a "quitter" started, the song that came was Carole King's "Where You Lead" and I was like WTF, lol. Thought you might appreciate the story. Love you!

Can we talk about We See What We Want to See because it's one your best work imo! are they happier now or did they go back to therapy occasionally? how old are their kids now?? i'm dying to know more about the malik-styles

OMG yay!!!! I’m glad you like it! It’s honestly one of my favorites. I love it so so much.

I think they definitely went back to therapy here and there, sort of a check-in type thing. See how they’re feeling, communicating, getting along. Make sure they’re on the same page. The kids are growing like weeds, not sure of their exact ages at this point. But Archie is doing much better, health-wise, so that definitely helps!
