Needing a wee break from actual story telling I have decided to share little fact sheets about a few of my characters (existing as well as OC).
I have put all under a read more for possible spoilers for things to come. There are spoilers if you haven’t read fics from my What’s This? A Ghost Series collection.
My take on Cardinal Copia:
Full name: Raffaele Copia
Species: Human (granted immortality at age 42, does not age)
Date of Birth: 1624, exact date unknown
Place of Birth: Venice, Italy
Height: 5 foot 7½
Sexuality: Bisexual
Relationship status: Married to Alessandro (Emeritus). Raffaele is also involved with Special Ghoul & Sister Alicia Oglesby as part of a polyamourus relationship.
Notable features: As someone who survived the black plague, his body is riddled with permanent scarring from untreated progression of the disease. Though these bruise-like “scars” are all over his body, the most noticed ones are the two that surround his eyes. (He often wears black eye makeup to cover them). They do not cause him any pain, just exists as reminders of what he went through all those centuries ago.
Other noted features include somewhat dated sideburns and mustache.
Eye color: Dual eye colors. One is green eye (right) and one is white eye (left)
Hair color: Soft medium brown, bits of grey

Typical style: A lot of the time he just finds it easiest to wear his clergy clothes, a black or red cassock, paired with other items that signal his status as a Cardinal (biretta, mozzetta, facia, rings) but he will not shy away from dressing down to be comfortable. He is fond of loose fitting hoodies and casual pants. He does wear jeans and t-shirts but if he is to be around people and not lazing around his home, he will attempt to make himself look presentable. He is not very comfortable going full formal but he will when the occasion demands it.
Personality traits: Raffaele is a man with a huge heart and a desire to be liked by all who come in contact with him. He is deeply affected by his anxieties but has come a long way to overcome some of the issues he has dealt with. He is a bit nervous by nature, but in the right setting the nerves are easy to ignore. He is a bit awkward and sometimes (most times) more than a bit awkward. He is a people pleaser. He has a very hard time coping with disappointing others. He is quiet, unless with the right group of people. He can be shy but is working to overcome that. He does have a strong will and desire to do what is right. Sometimes he is unintentionally careless, usually when he has too much on his plate and thoughts just slip. He does like to get things done, well and timely, but it doesn’t always happen.
Parents: As he was left on the steps of San Marco’s in Venice, he does not know who his parents are. He never knew them, nor did he ever seek them out, as records were not so well kept back in the 1600s

Pets: A Hell-cat called Furfur (formerly Asmodeus) and 31 rats (Isabella, Rosita, Philip, Jerome, Samantha, Behemoth [Heemy for short], Ratthew, Lucas, Francis, Myra, +21 others)
Occupation: Cardinal for the Church of Emeritus. His responsibilities are to oversee the church when Papa cannot, bookkeeping, admissions, fill in for anything else that might need his attention in the church
Hobbies: Reading, he loves to read. He also enjoys going for walks in the gardens and surrounding forest, keeping/tending rats, he likes to sing but does so more to ease his anxiety more than as a hobby, he loves listening to music (all kinds) and started a collection of rare vinyls, he loves art and going to museums, learning is a hobby for him
Favorite color: Red and blue
Favorite food: Garlic bread
Favorite movie: He does not have one. He isn’t a big movie or television watcher. He’s been called out for not having one but he doesn’t let that upset him.
Favorite song: Wicked World - Black Sabbath
3 likes: burnt pizza crust, warm baths, an organized office
3 dislikes: conflict, being forced to make spur of the moment decisions, when people cannot see the good in themselves (including himself)
6 Random facts:
- Raffaele was raised in the Catholic church and grew up to be a priest/missionary of the church.
- He loves to be in the water and is an excellent swimmer, though he doesn’t get the opportunity all that much.
- Lived most of his life as a loner. It stemmed from necessity. He didn’t want people to question why he never seemed to age. His deep rooted anxiety was also a factor in his choice to avoid people and closer relationships.
- He is the Horseman Pestilence and it gives him the ability to control disease (give and take).
- Can speak Italian, Spanish, English, Latin and Satanen* fluently. He is okay with French & Portugese but not close to fluent in either.
- Very few people know the fact and Raffaele would be careful to admit it to most, but he holds more faith in his family (found) than he does in Satan.
