I'ma say something that I've seen people both debate and not give a shit about;
I genuinely liked Encanto
I know people give it shit because it doesn't have a clear villain like the originals, or that its shallow, or they don't like the characters, they think it's cheap, don't like the music, only like it because of the music, I don't care
I liked it cause I could see myself in the main character, which is what I think people aren't understanding, I don't like it cause the "hit song" or the fantasy aspect, I like it because of the "I will...never be good enough for you, no matter how hard I try" and say what you will, it should e been this, it should've been that, Bruno should've been a villain, Maribel should've been a villain, etc, etc
I think her finally fitting in is a nice sentiment, I like the ending, yes, but I like the problem a lot more, because I have that, I see that, I AM Maribel for the lot of the movie, almost all of the movie
And that's why I like it
