Okay i watched it!

Im just gonna dump my “quick” thoughts here

The new style is growing on me. The original monster high specials had a gothic art style with a lot of wide shots and exaggerated shots. Welcome to monster high came out and completely changed the seating, opting for a style more bright and colorful( I was not a fan) when I saw this new show I initially dismissed it assuming MH wasn’t really for me anymore

But after actually giving this show an actual chance I was impressed with how creative the animation actually was. There are lots of fast visual gags and clever use of the monster abilities. This new show goes for a more cartoony style, the characters all have exaggerated proportions and there’s more of an effort to make the characters look visually distinct from each other.

The voices threw me off big time, I had no idea this show was coming with the new voice cast. Like, I had no idea draculaura was the one narrating the opening of one of the episodes. That being said, the new voices help set the tone, this is a very different interpretation of these characters.

Overall not perfect but I appreciate it for what it’s doing. The og monster high has a good run but that era is over and I think I’m okay with that now

Summary:

Observant yet oblivious, Lan Di realizes that he is not the only man in Usagi's life. In a matter of seconds, distressed by the simple gaze of another, he comes to find exactly how territorial he can be. Somehow, Hanfei is not surprised by this, but that does not mean his disappointment (as well as his anxiety) dissipates in any capacity. In fact, it may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Thankfully, once Lan Di isn't there, Guizhang is quick to assist Hanfei... Though, Hanfei may not be as keen on being helped as Guizhang would like. -- [Chapter content warnings: Possessiveness, manipulation, emotional breakdown, physical violence (in the form of martial arts.)]

Lan Di gave her one of his infamously cold smiles, topped with an extra hint of amusement, "What are you hiding from me?" There had to be... Something, right? The woman was already too good to be true as it were. Just as the question left his mouth, Usagi's attention had been caught by something across the room, or someone, rather. She inhaled sharply and sat up straight, clenching her fists in her lap, her entire body becoming rigid with apparent panic. When Guizhang's gaze settled on her, she held her breath. Noticing the tension in her body, Lan Di glanced over his shoulder, cautiously, although one of his bodyguards casually moved to obscure most of any view Guizhang could catch of Lan Di. However, in that fleeting and brisk observation, Lan Di did see that this man had locked eyes with... Usagi. His breath caught audibly, and his heart skipped a single beat. Muscles twitched in his jawline, and his eyes narrowed slightly, brow furrowing when he saw the way her cheeks became red. She hastily tried to cover them while making herself as emotionally inconspicuous as possible. She then shifted nervously, trying to fix her hair.

This girl... What association did she have with the Chen family?

Cleo time!! a short pt2 :)

out of all the reboot Cleos, I think thse two are my favs. The dress style, pattern, and shoes looks really good on the wtmh Cleo. I think it fits her fairly well, but is still a bit too cheery I think.

The garden ghouls cleo is a fav bc SHE HAS WINGS!! AND THEY HAVE NICE ARTICULATION!!! Literally the whole reason I got her. I think her dress is ugly and definitely not for her but i think the wings looks good.

The faces are still very blah but I like the little crystal shapes on wtmh Cleo, it just adds a little something. Also glad the garden ghouls cleo has teal hair like a lot of her ogs.

I love dolls with short hair. I've had fairly short hair for the past few years so of course I wanna see that reflected in dolls and you don't get that too often. I think Cleo super rocks this look, tho I do think maybe there's a bit too much tinsel but its whatever.

Plus their outfits are so cool and they both have that motif of bandages that fit to her theme. Neither dress matches in color but both are so very Cleo.

OKAY HERES THE ONE I FORGOT TO POST YET AGAIN.

I just love the packaging for this box and how it has a cover box that goes over it, im just in love. That's part of the reason they haven't left the box lol this is easily one of my fav Cleos. Id like to have a second one day to have out of box bc gosh shes just so beautiful. The Ghoulia is also really amazing and I love anything that puts them together :)
