Tw: transphobia • • • Hi y’all-Amo here. I came out as trans at the start of the pandemic over a series of text messages and 🍆🤷🏼🥳 emojis since everyone was in quarantine. This saved me many potentially uncomfortable in-person interactions for which I am thankful. That said, I was still condemned for being a sinner and a pervert, had my gender reduced to a symptom of my mental illness, and even called a tr*nny. That said, my own mental health has been increasingly more stable since coming out. I haven’t touched a drop of alcohol since April, my relationship with my husband has deepened, and my self-confidence has skyrocketed. I refuse to let bigots and hate dull my shine, and as everything in our nation continues to unravel and rebuild I hope you don’t either.
