2019 edition of the #DirtyDog15k is in the books. It was a hot and muddy one, I loved splashing thru the clear water of the creeks after sliding in the mud. Had to take a call on the ridge that cost me some time but overall I felt like I managed my effort and hydration was on point. Completed my second #haulinintheholler25k today. Started out a bit cool but quickly warmed up (and I should have went with my first choice for torso, this combo was a bit warm). If you looking for a well marked and organized early spring trail 5/25/50k race, this is one for you. Year 7 complete. Not fast but I wasn’t expecting a PR. Happy to report no tendinitis in my Achilles and it’s been since last May for that. Last race of the year completed (and earned my pint glass for the 3rd year in a row). It wasn’t pretty or where I wanted myself to be at pace wise (the course was cold, windy, bright and beautiful, at times you were bathed in a gold glow) but I continued on. #HaulinInTheHoller25k 2018 edition. A nice cold March #trailrun with the potential threat of snow later in the day (forecasters can’t make up their minds). A well-marked trail with the added mental challenge of constantly winding up and down the same incline, being able to see those in front and behind you. Happy with my result, I have been sick all week so my goal was to control my hr to not excite the coughing spasms. Felt good and like I could have pushed the pace on another day.
