WWE: Brand Split vs No Brand Split
WWE WITHOUT THE BRAND SPLIT --
Overexposure of top talent.
Not using the opportunity to create NEW top stars because “why should they when the already established top stars can just show up on both shows?”
Fans getting the SAME MATCHES on Smackdown that happen on RAW or vice versa.
MORE video packages for shit that happens across BOTH RAW and Smackdown.
More people (who should / have the in-ring talent to be on tv) thrown into the 24/7 Championship Division or not even on TV and stuck in catering.
HOW WWE SHOULD HAVE MANAGED the Brand Split --
Not overexpose top talent.
Build up new top stars.
CYCLE TALENT IN AND OUT to let folks rest and make sure the fans aren’t tired of seeing the same person / people week in and week out.
Let only the CHAMPIONS be cross brand stars and let them have feuds with people on BOTH brands to, again, BUILD UP NEW STARS!!!!
How WWE ACTUALLY managed the Brand Split --
Overexposure of top talent.
Didn’t use the opportunity to really build up new stars (for the most part with the exception of a FEW select names).
Weeks / months of repeat matches for both RAW and Smackdown.
A MULTITUDE of video packages and replays ON both shows.
Champions / Championships being locked to one brand and having to create MORE championships and get more champions for the brand that didn’t have one for that’s brand’s division. (The only exception in recent years to this is the Women’s Tag Belts; since the champions could float between the brands.)
This shit isn’t rocket science... even if WWE try to make it seem like it is.
