Zombie Walk as a fundraiser.
On Saturday I joined the last ever World Zombie Day London. The WZD is a charity event that used to take place the first weekend of every October. I’ve discovered it when I first came to London in 2016. I didn’t dress up then, but I did come to take some photographs of the realistic zombie costumes. The point of it is to dress up as a zombie and march through London collecting money for various charities. Usually it’s St mungo Charity to fight homelessness.
After the walk there is an afterparty. The entrance is paid, but again, the proceedings go to a selected charity.
This year I dressed up in my normal clothes and painted my face a ghoulish black and white. When I arrived at the meeting point, I just borrowed some fake blood and splashed it on my face. The result was good as I even got photographed by some of the accompanying photographers.
I think it is a fun way to raise money for charities because people love to dress up and gather together. Too bad the organisers said they no longer can continue with this initiative.
