I'M NOT EVEN CRAZY ABOUT THESE TWO, WHY ARE REN AND MARTYN PRACTICALLY WRITING THEMSELVES??

Upon first arrival Lizzie, Ren, and BigB were in a cell? How was that? Three people in a cell seems like a lot and I wonder how they got along before being put in their proper cells

The three of them got along really well, actually! The cell was a little bit more cramped, but they made it work. Since Lizzie and BigB are both (initially) smaller than Ren, they would share a bed and let Ren have his own. Ren was always protective of Lizzie and B, too, even before the mutations and side effects of the tests.

I’m just now realizing that all of them get prettt significant mutations tk their appearances, aw man :( poor guys.

Don't have enough ideas to make a fanfic but back to my "what if" ask, I wanted to expand a bit on Martyn having a sonic scream.

Trying to protect Ren, he ends up yelling "go away!" leaving the scientists and Ren with ringing ears and Martyn with the power suppressors. He feels absolutely horrible for hurting Ren but his friend assures him that it was an accident and he's fine. Problem is, Martyn knows he's lying because Ren's ears keep flicking a lot more than usual. Maybe leads to an argument, maybe leads to another accident, all I know is angst LOL

Awwww poor Ren!! Poor Martyn!! 🥺🥺🥺

Martyn would feel absolutely terrible and hate himself for scaring and hurting Ren like he did, and Ren would be trying so hard to just move past it, but he can’t. Of course he forgives Martyn, and he isn’t mad at him in the slightest, but he’s still scared, and he feels horribly guilty for being scared of his Martyn even just a little bit.

Imagine this! Ren is going through a test to see if he can shapeshift from just looking at a picture. They use the pictures of the other subjects. So imagine the horror that floods over Ren's body when he sees Martyn's picture. He's looking right at the camera and it's at that point that Ren knows exactly why his friend was chosen. This makes Ren so, very, very angry.

I’m going through and adding to my outline I have for Project X, and I just wanted to let the Treebark shippers know that I moved around the chapter that was originally going to be Chapter 6, so now that’s Ren and Martyn’s chapter <3

Can we get some Martyn and Ren thoughts, pretty please?

Ren and Martyn were unsure about each other at first, but as time went on, they ended up finding the most comfort in each other compared to the other subjects.

Oftentimes they’ll sleep on the same bed for comfort. Being closer to Ren helps Martyn focus on the sound of Ren’s heartbeat, and the steady sound makes it easier for him to fall asleep.

Ren hates the way he looks now after being forced to try and shift into a dog. The only times he can get rid of those features is when he turns into other people. Martyn assured him that it’s okay (it’s not of course, but Martyn doesn’t mind the change. It’s still Ren.).

The one thing that Martyn doesn’t like about Ren is the fact that his features are changing into his own. It’s not that he isn’t flattered that Ren turns into him the most during testing for comfort, but he doesn’t want his features to take over Ren’s.

Would Martyn happen to be the security guard for the theater Ren works at in the alternative timeline where they didn't get kidnapped? 👀

No, I don't think so. I think Martyn started out working at concert venues, so maybe he ran into Ariana and Oli at some point, but not enough to properly get to know those two.

However, I do think when Ren's acting career would have taken off, Martyn would have been hired as his personal bodyguard, and the two would've grown to be very close. :)
