Short Story-
"And here I thought the young, cowardly prince would be gracing us with his presence." The red dragon seemed displeased at the visitors in front of him. What laid before him were mainly bronze and gold kobold soldiers and aarakocra warriors. Aside from those, stood two individuals of note, a bronze half dragonborn half kobold lord and his young human attendant. These two were nothing new as they always attended with the prince to these political gatherings.
"I apologize Lord Xazorath," the bronze dragonborn responded offering a respectful bow, "The young prince will be occupied for quite some time and as such I will take over in his stead for the foreseeable future."
"Hmph." Xazorath released flames through his nostril. "And no farewell from him then? I'll be sure to remember that."
The dragonborn lightly tapped his cane on the floor as he let out a small cough. "You missive is in regards of the mines correct?" Xazorath did not respond. "Your agents tell me that you're not exactly happy with our plans to prospect the sources there."
"These grounds exceed Aurithax's territory," the red dragon responded.
The dragonborn tilted his head playfully, feigning confusion. "I do not understand my lord. These grounds lie west of Cormyr. I do not see-"
"Do not play games Kashak. What secrets do you actually hope to find in the Dragonfall?"
"Oh?" Kashak kept his playful demeanor while tilting his head towards the other direction. "The mines do expand into the Dragonfall, yes, but there is no other reason than resources."
Xazorath grunted. "As I see it, the grounds belong solely to chromatic dragons. You would tarnish the grounds of the death of countless of my kin? What reason would Cormyr seek to expand further west then to tip the balance of power hm?"
"Why we would never, my lord?" Kashak adjusted himself upright once more. He turned to the side keeping his gaze the red dragon lord. "Though, are you not yourself searching for the fabled city of Nofelnox?"
Xazorath's eyes narrowed as he lowered his head to meet the gaze the bronze dragonborn. "Now this is curious. Where would you have heard of that?"
Kashak gave a smirk with a shrug. He closed his eyes placing a claw under his chin deep in thought. "The fabled homeland of the fabled two-tailed tabaxi, or should I say formerly fabled two-tailed tabaxi. Our mutual two-tailed humble merchant never made this information known if that's what you believe." Kashak again shrugged. "But given the fairy tales, I just made an educated guess. It certainly wasn't a little bird that told me, or two, or a dozen."
The dragonborn and the dragon both knew Kashak's agents infested Cormanthor. Something Xazorath would have to personally deal with later. The dragon grinned and let out a loud laugh. The kobolds and aarakocra looked visibly afraid but Kashak remained unfazed. "Regardless..." Xazorath responded, "I would HIGHLY recommend avoiding the blight of the Dragonfall. I wouldn't want to see any... unfortunate accidents occurring to your men."
"Ha ha. Well don't worry about them. We will respect the grounds of the diseased dragons and try not to encroach to far west. We only have interest in the mines after all."
Xazorath squinted. "Quite."
The dragonborn and his lackeys made their exit. "Retorath, enter," Xazorath commanded.
A large red half-dragon entered the chambers and kneeled in front of him. "Yes my lord?"
"Find me candidates from the high houses to get ready for a task immediately. I need them to retrieve a 'lost' prince." Xazorath chuckled menacingly.
