People had been telling Rion all his life to pay attention to the first time you touched someone. And he did. He was on his guard for it. Too many people in his life had been struck down by the affliction called love for him to not be wary of it.
The stunning blonde had caught his eye from across the room and he wasted no time in going over to her, thinking of her as just another person’s bed to warm for a night. Smiles were traded and words shared.
They both knew where this was headed.
He stretched a hand out to her face, the touch gentle enough to brush her hair back behind her ear. And in that one moment he knew. He knew her, Dom, and he knew himself now. Masses of memories flashed before his eyes, countless trysts and embraces, some forbidden, some condoned, different bodies, different fashions, different places but there was one thing that always stayed the same.
“For old times’ sake?” he offered.
As their lips met he couldn’t help but wonder which one of them would wake up to find the other missing this time.

Waking up, Rion smiled a little to himself as he saw Dom’s silver-blonde hair spread out on the bed in front of him. Seeing her wake up and turn over to face him he said, “Good morning, Miss Weasley.”
“And to you, Mister Hannifan,” she replied with a half-smile. “Last night was fun.”
“Oh, that was fun,” he chuckled softly. “But I do think we should set a time for a follow-up experiment, just to ensure the reliability of our results.”
“That sounds like a remarkably good idea to me,” she laughed, swiping some hair behind her ear. “You mind passing me one of those oranges, love?” she gestured to the table across the room which had a bowl piled high with the fruit.
“Sure thing,” picking up his wand he tried to summon a pair over. When the charm failed, he blamed it on a lack of concentration on his part and got out of the bed, slipping on a pair of boxers. Crossing over to the table he picked two of them, throwing one of them over to her. “Catch.”
Peeling one of them she asked, “Seriously, what is it with you and these oranges?”
“I like oranges and these are the best you’ll have. Not much else to say,” he shrugged as he went to the window and opened the curtains. “The fuck?” he exclaimed, more to himself than anyone else.
“What’s the matter, love?” she asked, concern running through her voice as she sat up slightly.
“I don’t recognise this skyline and earlier on my wand didn’t work. I thought it was something I did but now I’m thinking that there’s something else going on.”
“What? You had better not be messing with me, Hannifan,” she warned. Grabbing her own wand she found that was ineffective and so she got up to stand next to him. “Shit. Wherever we are it doesn’t look like it’s London.”
“Yeah, I guessed that we weren’t there but where the hell are we and what happened?”
“If I knew I’d have told you by now.”
His brow creased in concentration for a moment he walked over to his chest of drawers and got some clothes on. “Put some clothes on, Dom. We’re gonna figure this out.”

Dominique smirked. "Charming your dorm entrance? You must really want to kiss me, Hannifan."
“Hardly so, Dominique, I’ve only just gotten up, this mistletoe is as much a surprise to me as you,” he smiled. “If anything, one might think that you wanted to kiss me, after all, this isn’t Andrew’s dorm and Isaac’s already headed off elsewhere.
“Still, now that you’re here,” he smirked as he brushed some of her hair behind an ear, “it would be a shame to let this moment go to waste.” Stepping forward, he placed his hands on her hips as he leaned down to kiss her, finally satisfied in reaching one of his goals.
“Now, about that experiment...”

☔: My muses reaction to opening their front door and seeing yours drenched in rain
Rion didn’t mind the rain, he didn’t like it but he didn’t dislike it. This evening in question he was sitting in the window seat in his room, watching the rain fall down the window pane and drinking his firewhiskey.
Thump! Thump! Thump! The door was knocked on three times, the sounds echoing through the entirety of the empty house. Rousing himself and setting off down the stairs, he wondered who it was at the door. Whoever it was thought he was taking too long to get there as they kept on banging on the door, the consistent sound quickly irritating him.
Throwing the door open he was shocked to find Dom there, her hair a mess, makeup running down her face and her eyes red and puffy. “Come in,” he said simply, moving out of the doorway and closing the door behind her. “The bathroom’s up two flights take the left landing and it’s the third door on the right. If you want some dry clothes they’re in the room opposite. They might not fit but you can take what you want.” Silently, except for a few sniffs which Rion pretended was just a cold coming along, she went up to warm up and dry off.
She came down a while later wearing an oversized shirt and some loose tracksuit trousers, somehow managing to make that look good. He held the firewhiskey out to her and she took it, drinking hungrily before placing it on the table. They stayed up late that night, talking about anything and everything, everything except why she turned up that night. There were some things that were just off limits.

They’d stayed on the pitch under the guise of ‘extra practice’, something Rion was sure Terra could see through but didn’t care about. Sitting underneath the stands with nothing but the stars to keep them company it didn’t take long for Rion to bring out the firewhiskey and even less time for the flirting to begin, easily slipping into the roles that they’d started along time ago.
Looking over at Dom he brushed a strand of hair behind her ear before whispering, “You’re so fucking beautiful.” Leaning in, he kissed her, not caring about the smell of alcohol on her breath, knowing his smelt worse. All that mattered was the moment and the emotions they were feeling.
The kiss was tender, soft & sweet, filled with emotion neither wanted to admit to. Sure he was thinking of a girl, but it wasn’t the one he was kissing.
