I know that these panels present a real wall of text, but this is some repressed elitist sci-fi shit going on right here that I had to capture. Look at that drug buffet in the last panel. All of the major food groups are represented. Rolled joints, powders, smack syringes, pills. Are you telling me that millions of light years away on some alien planet, the drugs aren’t any more exotic than they are here on Earth?? We’re still rollin doobies and snorting crack off of a hooker’s butthole with a rolled copy of Gun Enthusiast magazine on some planet that’s on the other side of the cosmos? I don’t believe it for a second.
And there’s this bit where perfection princess Seera of the Chosen isn’t allowed to touch anyone, which makes her as starved for human contact as that repressed asshole Cyclops. I love this bit where she stuffs little Nathan Christopher in the storage compartment of her droid.
If he doesn’t already, he’s going to need to be changed soon or he’s going to shit himself out of those PJs. I guess the droid can take care of it. (X-Factor #44 – Sept 1989)
Ugh I just checked and this is part 2 of EIGHT in this “Judgment War” storyline in which X-Factor gets lost on an alien planet that’s undergoing an extensive war. It’s just like that never ending Asgardian story line in the New Mutants that I just finished and was really bored with. Oh, and do you really want to tumble down a rabbit hole? Google the correct spelling of the word “Judgement” or “Judgment.” Even the English language is at war with itself. (X-Factor #44 – Sept 1989)
Awwww!!!! Look at these cute hideous alien mutants!!! This mother and son cyclopses are just about as cute as they are revolting. Hey shouldn’t Cyclops be having the rendezvous with the alien cyclopses instead of Beast? It seems like he’d have a more natural kinship with them, considering what a hideous freak he is. Anyway, after X-Factor and their ship get mysteriously recalled to another solar system by a Celestial, our favorite muties gets transported to the surface of an alien planet in the middle of a raging battle between the planets inhabitants. Everyone on this planet seems to be a super powered mutant, but they are separated by the nature of their physical characteristics, with everyone on one side being a physically deformed freak like Beast and Archangel (called the Rejects), and everyone on the other side being attactive humanoid beings like Jean Grey or Iceman (called the Chosen). It’s your basic haves vs have nots Brave New World storyline, with the Chosens being forced to reconcile their oppressive ways in the face of a violent resistance, with plenty of brainwashing and casual drug use to boot. I don’t want kids, but man that hideous little Cyclops baby is so darn cute!! (X-Factor #44 – Sept 1989)
