Juliet leant against the ticket counter as she sipped from her soda. She watched Noah as she waited for her ticket. She didn’t even know what it was she’d paid to watch, having chosen it random. For her, movies were a distraction, and allowed her brain to stop focusing on her clients and what they were going through. Her gaze swept around the cinema, lingering on the slightly faded carpet which seemed to have permanent popcorn kernels embedded in the fibres and low wooden benches where a few other people sat chatting to each other. Though it wasn’t as busy as she had expected for a Friday night. “Have you seen this movie?” she asked curiously gesturing to the one she’d picked on the board behind Noah “The last couple I’ve watched have been duds.”
