Zai needed to get out. His wounds had mostly healed, but his ego remained bruised after all that had transpired. Taking a hint from Henri who had no trouble spending his soul coin on creature comforts, he joined him at the shops to have a proper look around.

The usually brash mutant was trying to overcome feelings of inadequacy among his far more experienced magic users. Demigods who wore the title for years, even decades longer than him. Perhaps he wasn't ready to take to the training grounds, but doing something quite human like shopping could help him realize his pride again.

"Now that's a shiny thing." Zai smirked while approaching a big case holding a giant golden jewel. It was listed for 110 soul coins. "One day, I'll be able to afford that--and anything else I set my sights on." After a beat, he turned to Henri and asked, "Is this how the golden flowers in that Elysium place looked?"

It was midday, sun still high in the always perfect sky of New Olympia. A silent prayer to the Dark Queen who kept them in such atmospheric comfort. The festival had come to an end but life on the island had not changed. People still flocked here for escape, some never left. Some that came to party stayed to serve, truly joining into the flock. Ronin sat with his back to the bar nursing a light drink on the counter. His attention more so set on seeing the power of Ouroboros continue to grow right before his eyes. Wondering when the day would come when their influence took hold of the entire world and made it into something better. He held a great deal of pride for being able to be apart of it.

Through his wide spread gaze he caught Henri's golden halo through the crowd. Raising a hand hoping to get his attention. Eyes watching the demigod with new respect than might have been earned at first meet. Sure Henri had power, he saw that much on the training grounds. But now he'd seen just what that power could do. "Rumor has it you have the current high score for elven kills. Had I known that I might taken that last one for myself." Looking back to the bartender to pour his company a drink.

“Henri!” Called bargaining into Henri’s room. “Did you take my red shirt again?” She asked rolling her eyes. She didn’t really care or even notice when Henri took her clothes but it was just when she went to wear something and it wasn’t there it was annoying. They were close enough that Clary never got mad about those thing but she knew she could call her out

Mariana picked up her phone and dialed her friend’s number, It had been awhile since they had spoke and she missed her. She hadn’t seen her over the new years and wanted to wish her a happy new year.

Sitting at the foot of Corey’s bed is a package tied with a gold bow. Inside, is a beautiful gold cuff bracelet with roman numerals. Attached is a small note which reads: 

I’m a little late, but I wanted this to be perfect. Took me a while, but I was able to finally make it. I hope you have an amazing birthday. Crafted with solid gold because you’re the sun and you deserve to shine. Engraved at the front is the day we first met in roman numerals. It meant a lot to me. In the back is when you were born. Happy 22nd, darling.
