despite them killing off xigu i can’t deny that the entire show, including the last episode, was shot and written beautifully. modc is genuinely one of my favourite bl series just because of the development that you see in both the characters and their relationships with each other. the actors worked so hard and you really could see the way each character has matured throughout the years.

i liked that each of the main characters got a decent story arc (except haoting and xigu) and that we weren’t just left in the lurch wondering what happened. we even got a shiyu scene! the writing of the last episode was amazing, especially that scene with haoting and his mom. it broke my heart.

overall i would definitely watch this show again but maybe without the last couple of episodes so i can act like xigu and haoting did get to be soft college bfs in the ebd
