When Rogue sees her children…she sees Scott.
In Kirby, her eldest child and only son, she sees Scott’s stature. His ears. His soft-spoken strength. The brown in his hazel eyes. His natural ability to draw others in who are in need of protection.
In Roberta, her second child and older daughter, she sees Scott’s hair and skin colors. His smile and eye shape. His tactical mind. His instinctual ability to take charge and command a room. His natural born leadership.
In Morrow, her youngest child and daughter, she doesn’t see much of Scott yet. But she sees how whenever he enters the room, how her youngest will pause in whatever she is doing so she can reach for him to take her. How as he speaks to her, she hangs onto every word even if she’s too little to understand them yet. How as he holds her, she gazes up at him like he’s hung the stars and the moon. How when he smiles down at her, she beams back around her thumb she has yet to cease suckling. How his name, “Dada”, is her favorite word to sign.
And Rogue is reminded through them again and again why she loves Scott.
When Cyclops sees his children…he sees Anna Marie.
In Kirby, his eldest child and only son, he sees Anna Marie’s chin and jaw. Her smile. Her eye shape. Her determination and desire to connect to others. Her taste in fashion. Her ever-filling heart of gold.
In Roberta, his second child and older daughter, he sees Anna Marie’s nose and lips. Her expressions. Her natural born dry wit. Her ability to think outside of the box. Her fiery passion and sense for justice.
In Morrow, his youngest child and daughter, he sees much of Anna Marie, from her mallen streak, to the moles behind her ear, and down to her stormy grey eyes. How they are complete opposites in personality and tastes so far. How they somehow manage to be in perfect tune to each other’s mood and aura. How wherever she goes, their littlest one immediately moves to try to follow her so she is always by her side or in her arms. How she is the only one their baby makes an exception to her constant ‘thumb-in-mouth’ mode when giving and receiving kisses.
And Cyclops is reminded through them again and again why he loves Anna Marie.
