I feel like between Storm, Wolverine, and Colossus, the new X-Men are incredibly powerful. Their ability to deal damage eclipses that of the old team and they are way more confident and capable. I feel sorry for poor ‘ol Kierrok the Damned here. (X-Men #96 - Dec 1975)
