“I don’t care what that demon girl told you! She was wrong!” 

Buffy hated seeing him this defeated and if she hadn’t killed the demon already, she’d head out to do it right now. The last thing she needed was for him to start doubting his usefulness in this group again. 

He was Xander, and without him, there would be no THEM to begin with. He was the glue that kept them together. The heart who could get through to Willow in her darkest moments and saw Buffy’s sister for the strong woman she really was. And he had been Buffy’s STRENGTH more than once. She’d never have made it this far without her most loyal friend. 

“You’re Xander. Our Xander. And I’m always going to need you. Always.”
