Serena won her 2nd Performance :D
So I’d say that was a very good episode all round. It just felt right, is all I can really say. They’re doing a really good job writing Serena and her squad right now, giving them moments together etc. I’m not even mad that the battle got cancelled because this story was about Serena and Eevee, not about battling. They got what they needed out of the battle, no point in continuing it past that. And then Shauna was just like welp Imma quit too Ash you fight Tierno or something. Which makes sense. Few random thoughts: - Eevee and Blastoise were really well animated, I’ve never seen either of these Pokemon be utilized like this in the anime, a fast Blastoise? NICE - Shauna knows - The “let Eevee greet each Pokemon one at a time” scene was a bit weird. Like really, it’s THAT shy? There’s like, no difference between any of these Pokemon and Bunnelby other than the obvious Chespin. But okay. Maybe it was simply for the Chespin gag. - Great new music in this episode especially in that moment where Serena had her epiphany. From the Diancie movie I assume, I can’t really remember that soundtrack, gotta go check later. - I actually laughed when Ash went for the Electro Ball literally as soon as the VS screen faded. NO MERCY. Also he almost bodied Eevee soon after. Woulda been funny if it was just over right then and there and Ash was just standing there awkwardly like “...Oh”.
I'm not completely sure how I felt about this one yet. It's not so much that I didn't like it as it is that I feel that I need to understand everything going on to fully appreciate it. At least by appearance everything looked solid. Eevee's getting so much character already and that makes me really happy. I can only hope the show doesn't forget about her as she grows out of her shyness. I thought it was interesting how the battle was actually Serena's idea. It seemed like the battle wasn't done to actually win, but to strengthen Serena's bond with Eevee like her performance battle with Aria. The way she just stopped felt kind of off, but maybe that'll get cleared up when subs are out. Overall it was pretty good but DID YOU ALL SEE THE ANIMATION FOR NEXT WEEK??? I'm expecting great things from the conclusion of this arc as XY winds down.
EEVEE IS ME
Hehehehe...I think Shauna knows...

Good episode, pretty standard but enjoyable enough.
Serena and Eeevee were cute. I liked how Serena tried to search and bond with it when she found out they had a shared interest in dancing, and the scene where Serena was watching Eevee's performance was really well done. Im glad she didn't try to interrupt it and respected it's space. Of course we get the standard "TR causes conflict and serves as the catalyst for capture" ending and I don't have much to say there, Serena was badass though so good for her there. Eevee herself is a cutie, we haven't really got any super shy pokemon until this point and seeing it try to hide behind Serena and Bunnelby at the end was so cute.
Speaking of, Im glad EeveexBunnelby is an actual thing and not just ED exclusive, once again the writers are bring their damnedest to redeem Bunnelby's character and I'm so happy for it. And going by the next episode's preview it seems to be a recurring thing, which is GOOD. Why did the magazine say how Eevee and Pikachu are good friends when they didn't interact once in this episode? Maybe that's for a later episode.
So congratulations Serena, I already like your Eevee better then May's.
