2016′s Bathroom Stuff
If a man walks into the restroom with my wife or daughter, then there will be problems. However, you won't be able to tell most of the time if a transgender person walks into the bathroom.
A lot of transgender people take hormones to be more like the opposite sex. So, here's what I don't think people get about the proposal in Tennessee. A woman taking hormones to be a man will dress as a man and may even have hair like a man. If that transgender walks into the women's restroom after your wife or daughter (which by the way, this transgender is probably attracted to females), you can't do anything about it if the law you want passes. That "woman" identifies as a man, but you supported FORCING HER to use the women's restroom.
Right at this very second, that woman who looks like a man is using the men's restroom and we arent thinking anything of it. But if Tennessee passes the law, then this could become a problem.
BUT, if the law passes, I hardly think it will solve anything. Transgender people will still use the restroom of the sex they identify as, because they always have and you never knew it. So, all this bill does if it passes is make you feel better about it, even though nothing will actually change.
By the way, how do you expect to police this? I don't want to get to a point where I have to expose my genitals to a bathroom bouncer every time I need to whiz. Ya know?
[ Hey fellas, what’d I miss?]
Hello Again, Tumblr
My long absence is attributed to the fact that I got a new job that disallows me to have a opinion about certain things. I know that sounds extreme, but I’m Ron Burgundy, and I deliver the news. When you do something like deliver the news, you can’t let anyone know how you feel about most things, because it could present the idea of a personal bias, no matter how general it is.
So, today class, I’d like to talk to you about social interaction. Here’s something I continue to run into that is most frustrating to me. People aren’t always going to agree with you. No matter how right you believe you are, you are never right about an opinion. If I ask you if a shirt looks good on me, a yes or no answer is wrong.
This is important to a journalist. You can’t confuse facts for opinions. But it’s important in life as well. I’ve been married for almost three years now, and I’ve been with the same woman for almost a decade. I have almost had several heart attacks trying to explain to her how wrong she is sometimes. She is wrong, wrong, wrong about so much.
No. I’m wrong. I’m wrong for feeling like she is wrong. No matter how much I believe she is full of it, it doesn’t change the fact that she has an opinion that is different from mine. Neither of us are right or wrong.
Which brings me to my next point. Anyone who says their respective parents taught them right from wrong is wrong too. Your morals are opinions too. Wrap your mind around that one. For example, does your spouse’s butt look big in that dress? Well, even if you think his/her butt looks huge, you will probably tell him/ her that it looks just fine. Why? Because the right thing to do is to love your spouse unconditionally and not do anything that could hurt feelings. But the Bible says we shall not bear false witness against our neighbor. You lie to your spouse and sin at the same time. So, what is right and wrong in that scenario?
So, there is a question of whether or not the ideas of “right” or “wrong” even exist. Sure, these words have definitions, but is there such thing as absolute right and absolute wrong? If there isn’t, then why do politics have to be so filled with hate? Why do my wife and I battle each other with loud words? Why can’t we have civil social interaction with everyone? Because we are too stupid to realize the absurdity of assuming an absolute existence of right and wrong.
Boom. Life solved. Next puzzle please.
How I Feel Trying to Make Decisions as a Parent
Her eyes opened. She peered into the world with a wail of objection. Everything she could comprehend was heavily outweighed by that of which she could not. In this special, touching moment, she had no idea that she was a princess, oblivious to the fact that her tears were powerful enough to evoke tortuous feelings of pain and sadness. Her smile could make us feel like anything in the world was a possibility. Her calm moments of innocence were emotionally moving enough to stop a tornado in its destructive path before it proceeded to fade away above itself. This is the best way to describe what being a parent has been like for me. The princess was born once upon this time. I am her king, my wife her queen. And we must provide for our princess. We must give her every chance at life we can afford. All she knows is what we allow her to know. So, when the king and queen are at crossroads, there is pressure to protect the kingdom, if for no other reason than for the heiress of the throne. What if we're wrong, and the kingdom falls? The reflection would be more painful than I could personally bear. I love my princess, and one day I want her to be a ruler far more wise and competent than myself. And my job is to give her a chance to be. If I am to cause the kingdom to collapse now, dooming her into a life of serfdom, my purpose in life has been failed, and my legacy would reflect it. We don't ask for difficult decisions, just as we don't ask for the pain that accompanies the tears of our princess. But a major part of life is handling adversity and making all the difficult decisions that find their way into our lives. And my queen and I will figure it out as vigorously as humanly possible to ensure that our once upon a time ends happily ever after.
