main tags generally arent the place to complain about things you dont like and there are more options than "romantically involved" and "literally brothers". like i totally get wanting to decenter romantic relationships because im also aspec but they can just be close friends. you dont have to make a pair of characters out to be siblings to not enjoy shipping them. youre allowed to just not like a pairing romantically

Oh yeah, I totally understand that. I'm not saying I see them as brothers necessarily as a rebuttal towards shipping them, the way I see it is just different. I find it easy to assume sibling-like relationships between Sakura and other characters, considering he's been alone his whole life and I'm also a huge sucker for the found family trope.
(I'm through writing that paragraph and I realize you may have been referring to Togame and Choji, and if that's the case, my bad! My mind was on the most recent post I made before I went to bed ;-; The way Togame watches over and protects Tomiyama could definitely be seen as romantic, but especially on my first reading and watchthrough, I didn't pick up on that.
Part of this ABSOLUTELY comes from personal bias, because the first time I saw Tomiyama, I was like, 'what is he, 12?' which immediately rubbed me the wrong way in regards to shipping him with anyone. And when I saw the way Togame interacted with him, sort of in a protective, controlling way that I immediately assumed to be brotherly; one example being that he had to physically pull Choji back from trying to fight the Bofurin members after their stage fights, which as you can probably tell by now, I interpreted as brotherly; like an older brother keeping his younger sibling out of trouble.)
Again sorry for the long explanation, but I just kept thinking of things to say, hah...
