‘You are beautiful like this,’ Shin says, turning lascivious eyes on him. ‘Look at that make-up. Miyokichi did a number on you, huh?’

‘Shut up,’ Bon grunts. He’s struggling out of the hairpieces, clothes pooling on the floor. There’s a pail of water with two handkerchiefs floating inside. ‘Help me, please.’

Shin walks over, making sure to brush against Bon’s skin as he picks up a wet cloth from the pail and runs it over his back. It elicits a shiver from Bon, the touch cool and gentle on his overheated flesh. Shin smirks and fiddles with the cloth. ‘This is heavy stuff, the clothes.’

‘It’s very warm,’ Bon agrees. The length of his neck is still smeared with white make-up, and Bon wonders how he’ll be able to get it off later if the cursory wipe-down proves to be insufficient. Are there any bath-houses open this late? Perhaps Miyokichi had left some things behind before she had to leave?

‘Where did your girlfriend go, anyway?’ Shin asks. ‘Shouldn’t she be doing this? She knows this stuff better after all.’ 

Bon exhales loudly as the knot is finally undone, the kimono coming apart gently and exposing his body to the cool air of the summer night. ‘An important client sent for her. And she’s not my girlfriend. She’s Master’s mistress.’

‘Yet you come back with lipstick on your lips,’ Shin says, and there’s a sudden weight against Bon’s back as Shin presses close, voice low beside his ear. ‘Hmm?’

Bon turns around. The make-up is still on his face, and he knows it elicits some kind of strange feeling in Shin to see him dressed up this way. Feminine and graceful, the slope of his eyes drawing in any onlooker. The audience had been enchanted, and here Shin is, eating out of the palm of his hand.

‘I want to fuck you today,’ Bon says, and Shin’s breath quickens in excitement.

‘Sure,’ he says, and licks his lips.

When Shin is dozing off after sex, Bon rises. He wipes the make-up from his face and prises Shin’s thighs apart, earning him a lazy grumble and batting in the general direction of his face. 

‘Wha--’ he slurs, sleep-bleary. ‘Not one more round.’

Bon nuzzles into Shin’s hand, affection taking over in the wee hours in the morning. ‘I’m just cleaning you up.’

‘Mmm,’ Shin says, and goes back to sleep. Bon kisses up the insides of Shin’s thighs, brushing against the coarse hairs. His fingers tighten on Shin’s legs as he heaves himself up to lie atop Shin, pushing a lazy kiss into his cheek.

‘Yer hot,’ Shin complains, but grins sleepily. ‘Guess we can share.’

Bon couldn’t agree more.
