time for a lil liveblogging!
the Northern Undead Asylum is a very interesting place to me. it's clearly a place many hundreds of years old; it's unclear if it was meant as an asylum to start or if it was later fitted for the purpose.
I have a suspicion that the Asylum Demon's boss room was once a chapel of some sort? imagine a priest high up on that balcony, proselytizing to the throngs of undead prisoners gathered to hear the word of the Way of White. just outside is a small graveyard (I have to imagine there was more, before the cliff crumbled away). I wonder if it was there beforehand, or if was a place for asylum staff to be buried, or something else...
another minor detail, but at the front of the boss room stand two dilapidated statues of what appear to me to be sphynxes, facing outward as if in guardianship of this holy place? I don't recall seeing such iconography anywhere else. maybe a quirk of the particular land that constructed this asylum.
Yannick has no memory of how he ended up here, but he's a knight, and he still holds faith in the Way of White. Perhaps he deserved it. After all, no one who wasn't in some way morally compromised becomes an Undead.
like clockwork, he is snatched by the crow, and ferried away to the Land of the Ancient Lords...
