UM REVERSES YOUR KYMAN
Also made Canon Cartman meet Reverse! Kayl >:) *rubs hands*
SOME REVERSE! AU SKETCH DUMP!! Um someone asked me abt the whole Hitler outfit situation, and obviously I wont have Kyle dressing as fucking Adolf- so compromises people!!
Martin Luther Halloween fit (the infamous bastard who was anti-Catholic, ironically he became hugely anti-semetic later on in his life, something that can be used as great commentary for a South Park ep (how being hateful can lead to a full circle to spreading not only hate to minorities and other groups, but can come back full circle to yourself) UM also Stanman friendship bcs I said so
AND MY FAV: TOXIC KYLEIDI MWEHEHEHEH
U should draw Cartman eating (trying to) eat vegetables
heheheh totally not an excuse to draw younger Liane trying to feed baby Eric (shes lost sm sleep bro RIP)
Psychoanalysis of Kyman perhaps?
OH DONT MIND IF I DO HEHEHE Y’all, Kyman isn't a hero/villain thing; it’s a two-asshole, shared-brain cell disaster, and that's the canonical truth. BITE ME. It always bothers me when people misunderstand their dynamic with a simple “oh Kyle is a victim of Cartman or is the right one here” YES- Kyle is RIGHTEOUS and has a strong moral compass, but be real here with me: If Kyle was truly the good, pure-hearted moral compass, he would have just walked away years ago. He wouldn't have spent two decades escalating a beef with a psychotic Eric Cartman. Kyle is just as addicted to the fight as Cartman is. His “righteous anger” is just as much an ego trip as Cartman's casual bigotry. He is constantly trying to be above in terms of moral superiority (his gay ass speeches in the early seasons of the show, and his constant attempts at doing the right thing.) He needs to feel superior, even if he himself doesn't realize it- and Cartman is the easiest target for just that.
And then you have Cartman, who is not just a jerk; he is a terrorist of the emotional landscape, and Kyle is the only one who consistently gives him the nuclear reaction he doesn't get from anyone else. In Cartman's weird twisted head, it's like a spark or a challenge- no one else argues or debates and makes stupid bets with him like that.
Basically, ragebaiter x rage lmao
A RANT ON MY REVERSE! KYMAN AU!! ❤️🔁💚 NOTE!! I couldn't exactly swap everything without it being off plot, too confusing, painfully mischaracterizing other chars, etc- So some changes might be based on personal preference or what seems to work This is MY AU, so I do what I want dammit! In this au, The Brofloskis got a divorce way back when Kyle was in kindergarten and Ike was a wee drooling baby. Due to Gerald and Sheila's broken marriage, Kyle has been under shared custody- but mostly lives with his dad in SouthPark, but lived in New Jersey with his mom asp This type of unstable life lead to him not being the best at making long term friends, even when moving to SouthPark permanently for middleschool. His relationship with his mom is strained and arguentative, and his dad usually does whatever he wants just to spite his ex wife Ike is mostly with his mom since he's the youngest, but frequently sees Kyle, the two have a surprisingly great relationship for long distance siblings (Kyle won't admit this) On the other hand, Eric's life is surprisingly normalish compared to his canon counterpart. He still lives with his single mom, but their relationship is much more healthier and Liane properly raised him- albeit strict Eric admitingly has a short temper, but his strong moral compass is the voice of reason, something his SBF (Stan Marsh) appreciates Cartman can beat your ass, but not without any reason Brofloski and Eric's relationship centers around Brofloskis unadmitted envy towards how content Eric is, and Eric seeing Brofloski as a fatphobic and horrible person he can't seem to not be friends with. They still call eachother insults and bicker constantly
(RIP Stan and Kenny) but they just can't NOT argue- yk?? And that's about it so far into my AU!! AND FOR THOSE WHO ASK- Kyle didn't feed Scott the parent chilli KNOWING he's related to Eric- he just wanted back his money >:(( And yes Kyle bullies Butters here boom :^)
Opinions on pistachio icecream?
FUCK pistachio ice cream, shit kills people
okay okay so you know I’m obsessed with your Reverse!Kyman BUT !!! I have some more questions 🥺 (I HAVE SOME FIC IDEAS COOKING TRUST 🙏💕)
obvs it’s not a 1 to 1 swap, but just how close are they to their canon counterparts? does Kyle experience Cupid Me instead of Eric - or have schizophrenia? even though Eric grew up in a stricter household, was his mom still a notorious whore?
I’m practically digging through your profile to find all the reverse posts 💔 sorry if I make you repeat yourself 😔😢
UM OKAY LET ME TYPE THIS OUT *cracks knuckles*
My Reverse!Kyman is a full switch. Roles, reputations, coping mechanisms, and narrative weight are all swapped. That said, it’s not a beat-for-beat reenactment where every canon event plays out identically on-screen.
Some things are adjusted so the characters’ behavior actually makes sense in context. For example, Kyle having divorced parents and an unstable early childhood explains a lot about his behavior, attachment issues and need for control and why he gravitates toward the parent who gives him freedom over protection. Sheila being overly strict and obsessive, while Gerald is emotionally neglectful and enabling, creates the kind of gaps where harm can exist without being named or shown. Gerald and Kyle’s relationship mirrors Liane and Eric’s in function rather than surface behavior. Gerald isn’t overtly cruel or openly hostile. He’s permissive, indulgent in the ways that feel good to a kid, and consistently unwilling to intervene when it matters. He avoids conflict, deflects responsibility, and frames himself as the “reasonable” parent in contrast to Sheila’s strictness, which naturally makes Kyle side with him. That favoritism comes at a cost. Gerald enables Kyle’s worst coping mechanisms by refusing to set boundaries, downplaying serious issues, and treating Kyle’s distress as something that will resolve itself if ignored. He wants to be liked more than he wants to be protective. When problems arise, Gerald minimizes them, redirects blame, or quietly disappears from the situation altogether. This creates a dynamic where Kyle feels chosen but not protected, indulged but not supported. Gerald’s approval becomes conditional and unreliable, teaching Kyle early on that affection is something you earn by being useful, agreeable, or entertaining, not something you’re guaranteed. Like Liane in canon, Gerald’s love is real, but it’s deeply misapplied and ultimately harmful. Gerald treats Kyle more like a roommate or friend than a child. He confides in him too early, avoids authority, and expects Kyle to self-manage problems he’s too young to handle. That over-familiarity feels like trust but functions as neglect, leaving Kyle independent without security and unprotected in situations where an adult should have intervened.
That’s generally how I handle heavier canon material. If something exists in this AU, it exists because the environment allows it, not because I want to depict it. I’m not going to spell out or portray sexual abuse involving kids. It stays implied, offscreen, and treated as part of the background shaping the character rather than a narrative focus. (An example with the Seamen episode: it would play out the same, except, of course, Kyle and Cartman swap roles.)
Eric, on the other hand, inherits Kyle’s role as the ill-tempered moral compass and “voice of reason,” and his upbringing reflects that shift. Liane is more competent and present, and I’ve considered giving Eric a stronger network of adult support early on, potentially including Chef as a non-romantic, stabilizing figure. That part’s still being figured out :^
BONUS: canon artstyle designs of reverse! Kyman my dear friend, @/cynsscythe on Twitter, made for me hehehehehehe
im really interested to know, what would kyle's cupid me (and theoretically strife cartman) look like or interact or how would that whole ordeal work in the reverse au?
Theyre acc super inlove, but have their own um- ways of showing it?? like one moment theyre being a stereotypical gay couple and pissing off kyle's hallucinating ass, the second moment they're arguing
Tbh its super bipolar coded and theyre not on a proper track- but its just real cartman and kyle's confusing emotions
