happy birthday to this king
A moment from the My Adventures With Superman panel at SDCC that lives in my head rent-free: when answering an audience question, the producers revealed that when they were discussing the design of Heat Wave, one of the designers shouted “make Heat Wave a woman, you cowards!” and then other designers in the room started chanting “MUSCLE MOMMY! MUSCLE MOMMY!”
Baby Connor, fighting with Baby Connor-60, then tumbling on to eachother with Hank stopping them. Please?

So I've always suffered from body image issues and I've always felt some sort of way about how I look in photos. I saw a Reddit post a while back about a groom who was upset his bride convinced their photographer to delete all photos of her because she hated how she looked so they have no photos together at their own wedding, and in the weeks leading up to my 5th anniversary/belated wedding party I was worried I would feel exactly like that bride. I knew the modern qipao I bought 5 years ago was gorgeous and clothes always look better when they're tailored, but I never had an emotional "yes to the dress" moment, just a "this is a beautiful dress and I don't dislike how I look in it".
It wasn't until I had my makeup and hair done and put on the dress that everything just...clicked. I went from "I'm wearing a beautiful dress" to "oh shit I'm GORGEOUS". Having the whole ensemble made me feel such gender euphoria like I've never felt before. I may be a cis woman, but it turns out my gender is "bride" or "empress" lol.
But in all seriousness, this is the first time I found myself not caring at all how I looked in photos because I felt amazing about my appearance. I found myself eagerly waiting for my friends and family to send me photos, looking through pictures from the event over and over again, and even appreciating candid shots at unflattering angles because I still felt like I looked good.
I'm sure I'll still have my "bad body image" days, and maybe I'll never reach this high again, but for one shining evening I felt like the most gorgeous person on the planet.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! I realized I never shared pics of the doggy mooncakes I made for Corn Dog two years ago. 😅 They’re purple sweet potato with shredded chicken filling.
A few weeks ago, when my calendar was jam-packed with job interviews, I told myself that I was going to splurge and get some pricey book nook kits if I managed to land a job. Well….
This year’s Thanksgiving spread! We learned that our oven has inconsistent temps so a lot of things came out slightly burnt, but still delicious!
