Daon

It would make sense if Daon liked Taekyung. So far Taekyung was the only one who questioned his people-pleasing behaviour and didn’t treat him any differently just because he’s a prodigy. As corny as it sounds, Daon might feel like Taekyung is the one who sees him for him, and not for his achievements.

Side note: I expect a mental breakdwon from him later on the show, when he can’t keep up his perfect persona and will most likely say something hurtful to others.

Shinwoo

At this point it’s very clear that his secret is him liking guys. I’d even go as far to say that the bullies had been his former friends whom to Shinwoo came out which didn’t end well. Maybe that’s one of the reasons he thinks of it as a secret, as something he should feel shameful about.

We know that Shinwoo has a crush on Taekyung from the start - maybe not from the very first moment, but pretty soon after he got to know Taekyung. Based on how he deals with his “secret”, it’s more understandable why he behaved that way to Taekyung. Shinwoo never hated him of course, in his own way he just wanted to prevent from having crush on a guy & developing romantic feelings for him.

He’s not as perfect as Daon seems to be: he was rude, he hurt Taekyung, he’s not as academically successfull. I can only imagine the pain of his, realizing that the Daon is his “rival” - that he has no chance to win against someone so caring, so kind, so perfect.

I don’t know what kind of direction the drama will actually go. My best guess is that there’ll be some kind of relationship between Daon and Taekyung which is not going to work out and they have some kind of falling out there. It seems like he’ll be part of Taekyoung’s journey of learning what platonic and romantic love are. Daon might be the guy he learns it with, but the endgame will be with someone else. When the time comes, with more experience and knowledge, Taekyung will see Shinwoo. Shinwoo, who, (because after a while he can’t deny his feelings anymore), by that time will have accepted himself and will be confident in his feelings.

(And Shiwoon? Please, he already knows everything. He understands the ongoing love drama more than anyone else. And he greatly enjoys this role sksjsks)
