Hihi!! <3 Random thing, but because of Orca Eclipse i was rambling to my friend about Orca facts (of which xey fully encourage me to do), and we were discussing the topic of orca dialects, and they then proceeded made a joke about Orcas having accents which led to ANOTHER fact and then I made a joke about Orca Mafias, so, in my friends great correlation skills, Orca SJ Eclipse? ✨

So this blog is basically dead in terms of story updates. I might draw my horses again in the future, but please do follow my art blog if you want to keep seeing art from me.

Ok yeah, I basically don’t want to play the game any more. It’s pretty much suffering from power creep. Instablinds and Brand New Parts are broken and should be removed. Stronger toolboxes for repairing shouldn’t have been added. Same with Decisive Strike. Then there’s Borrowed Time, which was added as a band-aid perk to counter camping. Instead it punishes fair killers that don’t camp by giving an absolutely free escape at the end. The majority of the maps now are unbalanced. Any map with a structure is open to abuse, and then there’s Lery’s. In a game which has always been survivor sided, in which the killer is on a timer until the survivors escape, tool after tool has been given to them that removes time from the killer. The killer can’t even gain this time back with Ruin, which should be the most effective way to, because of how bad spawns are someone usually takes it out immediately. You’re lucky to get 1 hook in before they do most game.

Then on the survivor side, killers are playing extremely scummy, camping and tunneling all of the time. In part due to the Killer Cube update, but also in part due to everything I just mentioned. I don’t think it’s the right thing for them to do, but it’s the easiest. The oft touted counter to this is just doing gens and leaving, but that doesn’t work. If you’re playing fairly here and don’t have a BNP or repairbox to gen rush them with, you find and do 1 generator in the time it takes that person to die, then the killer goes and finds someone else. And ofc I don’t have an instablind either to just save them. So long as the killer get 2 people doing this, they “win” (under new arbitrary rules thanks to the Killer Cube) and will be happy with that.

I can’t even play the killer I want to either, that I’d probably do well on regardless of all this because he’s strong. A similar issue to power creep exists here, where over time they’ve added so many perks to the game, that the amount of time it takes to get the build you actually want, or one you can even run is absolutely ludicrous. The entire perk/leveling system needs a massive overhaul.

Lastly there’s the ranking system, that thing that causes everyone to be scummy because they feel like they have to ‘win’. When this game has absolutely garbage win conditions that will probably never be good. When it means literally nothing because there are no ranked rewards, which have been promised for over a year. And it resets every single month! It’s completely meaningless. And people are purposefully deranking now because of how unfun it is at the top, because of how easy it is to derank yourself, ruining the game at all levels.

Honestly these developers just don’t know how to design a videogame from every basic aspect. They have a good core game but everything else is a hot mess, they don’t know how to fix it and everything they do only makes it worse*. I’m kind of done with it at this point, it’s gone too far and they won’t fix it.

*Examples: Bloodlust and how it’s caused people to play now, which effectively removes either side trying to outplay the other and is no fun. Loss of interaction, poor game design.

The nerf to survivor medium vault. 

All of Leatherface’s perks. Instablinds a problem? Create a perk that is essentially you saying NO FUN ALLOWED and denying all items. BBQ & Chili is unfairly strong on mobile killers, which they obviously didn’t consider/couldn’t balance around. Knockout is unfun by design, how did they not realise this. Why on earth would you promote someone being left on the ground? 

Freddy’s upcoming perks. Games too fast? Games all but over once the gens are done? Counter it by NOT LETTING THEM LEAVE. Never mind actually balancing the game itself. Just wait til that shit is ran with NOED. The SALT.

The Doctor rework. He is now frustrating and unfun and outright removes your ability to even interact with the game. Very poor game design all around.

The Nurse. Problem with maps being unbalanced with windows, vaults and pallets? Don’t fix them! Just create a Nurse that bypasses all of that, thereby being completely unbalanced and impossible TO balance!

Yeah you can tell I stopped giving a fuck with this examples edit, I was being pretty constructive before.
