Having checked your phone in the morning today, you may have realized that where the network providers name usually sits is replaced by “Zayed Humanitarian Day".
That’s because today marks the annual Zayed Humanitarian Work Day; the day we celebrate the legacy of Sheikh Zayed (the founder of the UAE) who instilled in us the values of kindness, compassion and giving.
It also coincides with the anniversary of the founders passing in 2004 whose timeless principles are woven into the fabric of the United Arab Emirates.
Shaikh Zayed had a passion for charity work and prioritized humanitarian and philanthropy taks. He also built bridges of love and cooperation between various races and culture of people, to achieve peace and prosperity,
These founding principles are manifested in Zayed Day for Humanitarian Action, that carry special resonance as it falls in the Year of Zayed, the centennial anniversary of his birth.
We can live on his aspiration by devoting our time to giving, volunteering and empowering one another. We remember him for the seeds of love he planted for what UAE has bloomed to be today.
