The witcher season 2
Could you make a longer post explaining why the witcher is slavophobic? Im a slav too, and dissapointed with the series, but I've honestly read the books and didn't think it was necessarily slavic? Like yes, we get some slavic names and creatures, but we also get djinns and germanic nordic stuff. It felt like a mix of european cultures tbh. But! You are not the first to say that and the other person was rude af when i asked for a more detailed explanation so im hoping you won't mind?
The Witcher books were mainly inspired by Slavic culture, folklore and mythology. Their core remains Slavic. Polish culture plays a huge part in the world of The Witcher. Yes there are Nordic, Germanic and Arthurian accents but still, the main core is based on Slavic countries and their culture. Even Sapkowski confirmed that The Witcher books are based on Slavic folklore and mythology.
Netflix excluded and erased those aspects in their adaptation, leaving us without any representation in the show. Sadly, their show got more clout than books, original series and even the games.
Western directors should never touch this story unless they actually did research on what The Witcher is based on and included all the aspects (or at least a part of them) that make The Witcher so important to Slavs.
I hope this helps
The witcher characters as parents:
Geralt of rivia
- Chill, patience, and easy going.
- He's naturally good with kids since he spent most of his life training them to become witchers.
- He always spends time with his kids. If he has girls, they'll play house, paint each other's nails, and have tea parties. if he has boys, they'll wrestle, play video games, and have pretend sword fights.
- Every night before bed, he'll tell them bedtime stories including all the adventures he had during his time as a witcher.
- He's a great dad, but not a push over. He can be stern when the situation calls for it.
i saw a post about braiding geralt's hair and jaskier's and what not.
I now have brainrot
Like, jaskier saying they should braid geralt's hair cause it's really long and a braid would be more pratical and geralt is immediatly going to say no but ciri lights up and goes "YES!" and goes off to find flowers to tuck in his hair and geralt just sends a death glare to jaskier who has a smug little smile on his face cause he knows geralt won't be able to say no?
Cut in jaskier braiding geralt's hair and ciri picking flowers for jaskier to put in the hair (yennefer is laughing). After geralt is done ciri demands they also braid yen's hair (this time geralt is the one laughing)
And and after that ciri wants her hair braided and at the end jaskier is exausted and all the hairs are braided with flowers
and because i'm weak i'm gonna say ciri turns to jaskier and says "your turn now >:)" and goes to pick dandelions for his hair and does little braids where she is able to??
the brainrot is strong
i want to draw this but my drawing hability won't do it justice but i'll try once i have time
(is this ooc? most likely. however i don't give a single shit fuck off lemme have my fluff)
Sometimes a family is an ambitious witch who’s hungry for a child of her own, a tired but golden-hearted mutant, and a girl who could bring about the end of the world. And thats ok.
Having watched all of the new season, can we just agree that the actors are everything but the writers did not understand the assignment.
