“Hey!” he barked out into the warehouse. The men bustling about paused in their work, standing at attention. Mikhail shoved the offending infant out towards them, leaning his head back so as to keep as far away from the squirming creature as possible. “Which of you went and snatched a fucking kid?! I told you worthless shitbags not to do that crap anymore! You think we have time for a goddamn ransom right now?!”
“W-we don’t know how she got here, boss!” One of his lieutenants called back. “She must’ve just--I-I don’t know! Wandered in or something!”
Wandered in... Mikhail huffed, glancing down at the bright-eyed little bundle. Those tiny, stubbly little legs didn’t seem fit to get her that far. Especially not into a mob hideout. He waved them back to work with an agitated groan, before turning his focus back to the toddler.
“... Right,” he said, speaking slowly. “How... you get in here. Have name, little girl?”

“Uh...?”
Lucius had just been stepping out onto the stoop of the salon for his usual post-closing cigarette.
He glanced one way down the street, and then the other. It was quiet out now, save the few passing cars and the starting notes of Jingle Bell Rock playing from the bar the next door over. No sign of anyone, least of all someone who might be a parent or guardian to such a tiny little thing. She seemed in good enough spirits, flopping all around in the fresh snow outside, but--how in the heck had she even ended up here?
Tucking his smokes back into his pocket, he peered down again at the little girl. Man, he’d just wanted to close up shop for tonight and go pick up Cels from daycare, but... well, he couldn’t just leave a strange toddler alone in the cold.
“Yer, uh... yer folks 'round here or somethin’, kid?”

Huh? Eh?
Seeing kids walking about wasn’t anything unusual. Seeing a kid as young as her, though? That was. And it was a little bit concerning for him, too. Where were her parents? He didn’t see anyone that really stood out to him. Worrying.
“Hey, Ah, little miss?” Phoenix asked, kneeling down in front of Alas Ramus. “What’re you doing out here all alone?”
