Yet another plot bunny -- Vikings OC
Floki and Helga were on their way to a celebration in Kattegat one Winter when they came upon a barely living child in the snow. This little girl was completely abandoned and left to die, the evidence of this was clear. Floki instantly felt the need to save the poor girl and instead of going to Kattegat as planned, he and Helga returned home to revive the girl. Floki and Helga's aid did just that and soon enough the girl revived and was well again – Only they found that she could not or would not speak.
Helga thought they should try and find her family but Floki refused. He believed the Gods brought her to them for a reason and he wasn't about to let her go. Since they did not know her name, Floki started calling her 'Snow' since that was where they found her. Helga thought they should give her a proper name, but once again Floki refused. “She already has a proper name,” he told Helga, “we just don't know it yet.”
The years passed and Snow was raised by Helga and Loki. She was instructed in the ways of healing, the Gods, and even helped Floki build his boats. (He also taught her how to fight but never told Helga this).
They came to understand Snow with ease and how her actions spoke louder than her words ever could. Every once and awhile Snow would speak, but only a word or two at a time. Floki came to learn her reasons behind this – Words are lies. Actions are truth. When this realization came to Floki it set in his suspicions that she was sent to them from the Gods for she had so much to teach without ever saying a word.
When Snow turned the age of sixteen, Floki brought her to Kattegat for the first time. He had been cautious about taking her there in the past for he worried no one would understand her or try to take advantage of her. But she had asked to go for the first time so he allowed her to come along.
Floki was right in his suspicions, a couple young men tried to...accost her, but Snow would have none of that. With complete silence on her part, she fought off the young men, leaving them bloodied and limping in her wake. Floki had witnessed this with pride.
Floki wasn't the only one who had seen this event. Ivar, son of King Ragnar, had watched this as well. As soon as his eyes fell upon Snow, he felt something he never had before – both physically and emotionally. The physical part could be explained, but the other...he had no words for it. All Ivar knew was that he wanted her.
Snow wasn't going to make it easy for Ivar or anyone else to get close to her. They would have to prove themselves first and not with words. After all...actions speak louder.
