Good bye my church. White Hart lane. 118 years of making dreams come true. I took the first and last love of My life there to see a game and it was My father's club as he walked me to the ground holding my little hand and picked me up when we scored. Its my club forever and my children won't know what this old lady stadium was like as it passes into legend. But they will know the future stadium where more dreams will come true and us old men will talk about the old days at the old white hart lane. My beautiful old lady White Hart Lane

Re: Oshima/Artoon/Arzest: Have you played any of their Yoshi games? I'd be interested in what you think of them, especially if you've played the original Yoshi games or Woolly World.
Yoshi’s Island is one of my top ten favorite games of all time. Viewed from the right perspective, it’s a really weird game, with the aiming system and changing Yoshi’s health so it’s more about grabbing Baby Mario. If you could say Nintendo had a “golden age,” Yoshi’s Island is a part of that. This is when Nintendo’s creativity was hitting the mark in almost every single game and blowing minds left and right.
Yoshi Story is the complete opposite of that. I can’t bring myself to get even halfway through Yoshi Story. It is an inconceivably bad game, one of the worst Nintendo’s ever made. There is nothing challenging or even necessarily interesting in Yoshi Story, it’s just a game where you walk around and eat fruit until the stage ends. Sometimes there are enemies, but they aren’t particularly aggressive or numerous. It would be a boring, completely forgettable game if not for the fact that it’s also the one to introduce Yoshi’s “voice.” This voice wholly and completely destroyed any and all appeal Yoshi once held for me. It marks when Yoshi stopped being an animal and started being a cutesy mascot. Overly-cute things don’t typically bother me (I love Kirby), but what they did to Yoshi in Yoshi Story has and always will be completely inexcusable. I said “hate” is a strong word, but I hate Yoshi Story, and I hate what it did to Yoshi. It’s a wreck.
After Yoshi Story, control of the Yoshi “franchise” was given to Artoon. Artoon continued the Yoshi Story aesthetic.
I did not play Yoshi Topsy Turvy, as I wouldn’t be caught dead within 100ft of that cartridge. It doesn’t emulate well (or at least not the way it was designed to), and reviews and videos of the game in action do not make it look appealing in the slightest.
I did, however, play Yoshi’s Island DS. Abbreviated it is “YIDS,” which sounds like a blood disease.
I, uh, don’t like Yoshi’s Island DS. I think I made it about halfway through the game before I gave up. It is a sloppy, ugly, buggy game. It feels like a fan game in some of the worst ways. I had the game crash on me a couple times. Having to switch babies at baby changing stations just engenders Donkey Kong 64 syndrome, where you’ll be walking past a section of level you can’t do anything with, have to go change characters, and then lug yourself back through the level until you find the thing you passed. It doesn’t play well, the music is awful, the graphics are amateur hour, it’s a bad game. I maybe don’t hate it quite as much as I do Yoshi Story, but I REALLY do not like it in any way even slightly.
Which is, honestly, the story of every Yoshi game but Yoshi’s Island. Touch & Go was fun for about 45 seconds. Yoshi’s New Island isn’t a game I’ve played, but I do remember promo videos looking INCREDIBLY rough and the general consensus on that game seems to be “It’s not the worst thing ever made.” (e.g. the faintest praise humanly possible without saying outright that it’s a bad game)
I’ve never played Yoshi’s Wooly World, but it is probably the first Yoshi game in a decade to at least make me interested in playing it. That’s largely because it sounds like Nintendo brought in outside help to get Arzest to actually make a good Yoshi game for a change, as opposed to a bunch of games that can be generously described as “Like The First Yoshi’s Island, But Visibly Worse In Every Regard.”
