I know Gato has already stated that Ren doesn't have an accent since he fled from Japan very young and pretty much forgot his native language, but I REFUSE to believe that. Because how old was he? How did he manage to run away by his own, learn English perfectly and survive all those years all alone, while also keeping himself hidden?? He must have had help, right??? There must have been someone and I WANT TO KNOW 😭
Anyway, this is also just an excuse for me to say that I WANT Ren with an accent. Or at least to let it slip sometimes when he is mad, or in pain, or excited. I want him to curse in Japanese wherever he gets angry or hurt, or to mutter an insult to himself knowing very well we can't understad what he's saying like the sassy man he is. Or to say something sweet/dirty during intimacy, OR TO GIVE US A CUTE NICKNAME IN HIS NATIVE LANGUAGE LIKE STRADE PLEASEE AAARRAGARAGAFFA
I just love the concept omg think of the possibilities. I really enjoy when characters show us more about their culture by small details 🤌
