My personal headcanon for Strade is that he refuses to lie. He just will omit certain details or talk like a politician or a PR trained person. Him telling you his name is Strade could be because that is what he goes by with other people. You ask if he has killed anyone, and he might say “oh, well, one time we had to put down my pet, he got really old :(“ or something.

Now, there might be something in the game where he does lie, buttt I like this headcanon :’(

Another possible Strade interaction with the neighbors:

Neighbor A: Good Morning, Strade!

Strade: Good Morning, [Neighbor A]!

Neighbor A: Is that hair? *points to Strade’s shirt*

Strade: Oh, yeah. I have a pet.

Neighbor A: Oh really? Can I see it? I love animals!

Strade: No, I’m sorry. He’s just really anxious, he had bad experiences with people, so he gets scared around them.

Neighbor A: Awww, thank you for taking care of him! I hope his anxiety gets better. You’re such a good guy Strade!

Strade: Haha, it’s no problem at all. I enjoy taking in lonely strays.

Neighbor B: Hey, Strade!

Strade: Hey, [Neighbor B]!

Neighbor B: Is that another package?

Strade: Yeah, looks like it, doesn’t it? *chuckles*

Neighbor B: Wow, you must really like that Japanese stuff. Unim-ee or something? I don’t know what it’s called, but my son watches it.

Strade: Haha, yeah I’m not sure why people like this so much, but I actually buy stuff like this for my pet. For some reason he really likes rubbing himself against these action figures, and enjoys looking at the posters. It helps with his anxiety and getting acclimated to my home.

Neighbor B: Yeah, pets are so weird, just wait till you have children

Strade: Ha! Don’t count on it! I’m quite a busy man!

Neighbor B: Everyone thinks that way, but you’ll slow down and start a family eventually. Trust me.

Strade: Whatever you say. Anyways, I’m going to head back inside *grabs package*. Have a nice day [Neighbor A] and [Neighbor B]!

the wording of “[Strade] claims he had a normal and happy childhood” in his bio has always struck me as very odd and i’m beginning to suspect this was him

Life sucks rn, wish I could grab a handful of Strade’s ass just once. Would it improve my life? Probably, as long as the greed doesn’t take over and cause me to want it more…

Imagine how funny it would be if there was an animation of Strade as Belle from beauty and the beast with his neighbors, like he’s just greeting everyone and going on about his day holding tools to go beat his secret, beastkin twink.

Also, I’d imagine Strade would tend to his lawn and greet his neighbors, but he’d mow at a reasonable hour so as not to disturb anyone. He’d probably be a part of that one neighborhood social media thing.

People would greet him and maybe ask for his help with some stuff or when he plans to hold another barbecue. Maybe they’d question him jokingly about where he could have been so late last night and why he was carrying something so heavy. “You secretly a hunter or something?” They might joke, and Strade might reply “something like that,” while laughing. While another neighbor chimes in saying he’s too sweet to hurt a fly. He might joke back, “I don’t know about that”. Then they’d go about their day.
