People may not know why the AUC is important. The significance of having 3 institutions of higher learning producing black excellence is unheard of. As Dr. Illya Davis said today, "There's nowhere like it. There's no comparison." Let alone presenting the opportunity for those students to be transformed by the greatest man who walked this earth. We have the opportunity to help shape these young souls into phenomenal loving kingdom assassins. Cultivation - the act or art of cultivating or tilling. This is also one of the 7 c's of @younglife #atlantaproject. We believe in making sure our students become well rounded chance agents in their communities. I believe to accomplish this they must first know their history. These middle & high school students went with me last night to see @thebirthofanation the story of Nat Turner. I know the school system only teaches certain things about history so it's my/our responsibility to cultivate a sense of identity and pride in being a black man & woman of faith in America. Thank you @origi_nate for creating an opportunity for conversation, education & empowerment. This is what discipleship looks like. This is Mentorship.
