In my opinion, Y/N fanfiction is dangerous because it contains addictive factors. Y/N equals your name keeps people on the lookout for stories like this over and over again that their crush or the character they love to produce. Not just to escape from reality, but to be forever with the character this story is about. If you look at all the Y/N fan fiction and what comments appear under such fan fiction no matter how now speak of a fan fiction site on the Internet or TikTok. You mostly see people who aren't just looking for validation or fun, you see them for the most part people who are interested in sexuality, love, and other things. Which is directed towards the author herself or even reflected in threats. It is becoming increasingly clear that there is an indirect war among all these comments, which of us is the Y/N now. Which under make stories an absolute impression of obsession equates. Because Y/N is your name, I am and I alone, which can also mean that more and more people can no longer distinguish fictional characters from real people. Other sides that they flee more and more into something from which they can no longer get out.
Of course, there are also those who see it as fun and thus also tell fun and funny stories. But over the last 4 years they have become less and less. And what we're seeing here for the most part is a vulnerability for young people to gain psychological stability from it. Crona has certainly given the whole thing a faster upswing. But even without Crona, this would certainly have reached a dangerous level. Parents are for the most part no longer parents today. If I had consumed something like that, my parents would have immediately blocked access to such content. Even when I was an adult, my friends would have given me a quick slap on the lid and dragged me to psychologists.
I'm really excited to see where this is all going. And yes, that's my opinion, if you're on the other side, that's totally fine!
