INTRO. hello, my internet really hates me with burning passion, i was really struggling earlier; i wasn’t able to like everyone’s intro posts and only managed to like a few because of it. insert nicole tv breaking down meme here. anyway here’s my boi, mino.

BACKGROUND.

mino is a halfblood, but he doesn’t know this, in fact no one knows this. EVERYONE including himself thinks he’s a muggleborn.

basically, he is adopted by six women who lives together, they’re all “psychic” (jk just most of them are), they do tarot readings, palm readings, fortune telling etc.

mino loves all of his moms. they are the reason why he holds onto his muggle roots.

MAHOUTOKORO.

when he’s twelve he got invited to attend mahoutokoro and he’s one of the best students in potion studies. 

he minds his own business, really, however there are children who makes fun of his broken japanese and the fact that he’s a ‘muggleborn’ doesn’t help; so to retaliate and have them off of his back, he puts a tough exterior on. he tends to get into a lot of fights due to this. if you look at him in a condescending, snobbish way then he’ll throw his fists.

after finishing his studies in mahoutokoro, mino isn’t quite sure what’s next in his plans. he wants to keep in touch with his muggle roots and keep himself away from the wizarding world (due to how he hates the elitism of it is), but before he can truly turn his back on it, he’s got invited to yeongji

this is still kinda spotty, still working on it. anyway on a first look you’d think he’s rv voice a really bad boy with his tattoos, piercings, and that deadpan expression; he can be guarded, but when he’s close with you he really is just a dork.

he’s soft and tender. also he’s humor is mostly just pop references, if not that then he’s just a total boomer.

hello ladies and germs :–)  i’m admin lily slowly recovering from my hour-long heart-attack about all the technical issues we had. whew. but i’m so glad to be here and that we’re finally open!! and i’m excited to bring you my sweetheart hyunjin, haengju’s guardian and yeongji’s official #mommyvibes. like this post to plot and i’ll slide in your dms!

before she was haengju’s domestic goddess, hyunjin was a bit of a #mess but we don’t talk about that these days! coming back at 4am after a night out who? showing up to a morning lecture in last night’s dress who?

used to be in debate team, but she left when she was elected house rep. still an avid quidditch watcher, gardencore and indie music hoe, etc etc. 

the sheer amount of mitski in her playlists.. staggering 

in typical haengju fashion, she’s an overall cheerful and friendly person. serious and stubborn on the low, but she tries to be amicable in any situation

not a total narc, believe it or not. she keeps an eye on her own housemates, but she’s not one to run to the school board over the slightest thing. prefers to deal with any issues in private 

half-blood and proud! she embraces both sides, so even if you don’t see her on the pitch during muggle baseball, you’ll find her on the bleachers, drink in hand 🍹

hello everyone! i’m happy to be here and i bring zhao lei with me to this roleplay. i’m awful with intros, but let me try. you can find his profile here and a little history here. i don’t have any plots atm, however, we can always come up with something through tumblr ims or discord. without further ado, let me say more about my character:

zhao lei, 21, pureblood, hwangmok.

originally from hong kong, his family moved to south korea three years ago, so he still struggles with the local language a bit. his mother forced him to take classes from a tutor before flying and he hated them, but his outgoing personality doesn’t prevent him from practicing with natives.

speaking of his family, his mother is the heiress of a racing broomsticks company in thailand; her business is actually the reason why he is at yeongji. on the other hand, his father is a retired quidditch superstar of china national team. for this and more, his life revolves around said sport. 

zhao lei eats, breathes, and sleeps quidditch like any other fan. he is the guy who has all the players’ stats memorized, except he has met them in person. he knows all the special moves, and he has practiced them on his signed, special edition broomsticks. his obsession may be too much, but that's how he was raised.

as soon as he had the chance, he joined the institute's team as a beater after passing the tryouts with flying colors. zhao lei is so damn good at it that he has sent several people to the infirmary (sometimes it's because of his temperament in the field). he has also collected his fair share of injuries and is proud of it. 

if he were just as passionate about the rest of his studies, things would be different. zhao lei is majoring in business because he is expected to take over the company, still, he finds academia quite boring. being an insipid director surely sounds more exciting that turning into the best quidditch player, huh?

happy opening day everyone!!!!!! i’m so excited help

my name is mira and this is my unproblematic baby called moon hana! she’s the student’s union’s vice president so you’ve probably heard of her around campus; she’s a haengju and was house vice-representative before joining the student union. she’s a 3rd year magical law major and her parents both work in the law enforcement department of the ministry!

hana is very sweet and caring but she also strives to be the best - she wants to be minister for magic one day, the cute lil thing - though she will never put the competition above other people’s well being. she’s a bit awkward socially but i promise she can be a lot of fun!!

ji youngchul: inmyeonjo, second year, potion brewing major (kang yeosang fc)

the ji family have been a family of bankers for a decade! they deal mostly with other pureblood family fortunes and are of course your typical snooty old money family

youngchul has a sister who is eight years his senior and she’s all set to take over the family business, which is great for her

youngchul is forced to the wayside, mostly because he does not care at all about banking or his family or his life back in korea, really

went to primary school in beauxbaton and fell in love with life over there! it was his escape from feeling trapped and stifled at home

youngchul is also a good little genius boy

has decided to forge his own path after graduating beauxbaton so he enrolled at yeongji for potion making and promised his dad he’d do something for the company after graduating (lies ofc)

sniffed out the drug ring within his first week and has been brewing illegal substances for them sense

not really into drugs himself but it’s easy money he can hide from his parents so he can run away back to france once he graduates and cut himself off from his family

has.... questionable morals and is pretty cold and introverted but definitely has his soft spots as well! you just have to find them, or speak in a french accent idk

also fun fact he has an owl named baptiste if that is important, it feels important

pureblood family friends - their families have been connected for years, so they’ve seen each other at all of the social gatherings

bonus points if their families have been not-so-subtly hinting for years they should get married to merge their households or whatever 

someone loud and bubbly that he avoids like the plague, please give him some peace (but like, in a fun way, tom and jerry)

oops we got too handsy during an orientation party freshman year and now its awkward to look at each other around campus (second years) 

other potion brewing majors he feels in competition with bc he wants to be the best in the program, it’s a pride thing

the youngest of seven siblings, bambi was a complete oops~ baby. apart from her twin brothers, there is a significant age gap between her and her siblings and growing up she was almost completely left to her own devices to run wild and cause havoc

and cause havoc she did, my friends. she’d broken all the china in the family manor before she could walk and let’s be real, definitely set fire to a room at some point too

her parents, maids, nannies, siblings, no one ever said the word no to her and everything she did and continues to do is almost a mission to see just how much she can get away with

her family are extremely, extremely loaded. she’s never wanted for anything in her life, she’s a spoilt little socialite through and through

her dad’s corporation is over 100 years old, and the foremost supplier of magical beauty products in the worldwide wizarding world (we’re talking beautification potions, everlasting eyelashes, pimple vanishers, hair growth potions and all sorts), if it’s a company related to selling beauty and fragrance products, her family owns it. her father is easily amongst the top five richest in the country

i know i said that she’s the personification of the cherry emoji but there are also times when she is the personification of the ios loading colour wheel (she’s not always all there, it takes a moment, ok)

she staged her own expulsion from beauxbatons at 14 because she missed her best friend

she could probably just told her parents she was coming home to seoul but wheres the fun in that amiright

despite the fact that she grew up in this ridiculously privileged rich kid bubble, she’s a nice girl, she’s charming and charismatic, fun and just cute lol the life of every party she makes friends everywhere she goes but you might have to remind her a few times that she introduced you as her best friend to a room full of people when she was blind drunk just because she found you standing alone in a corner

she drinks, smokes, and parties way too much tbh if you need a good time hit her up 

she’s also overly energetic and can be immature and unpredictable, she’s thrill-seeking to the point that it can get a little dangerous, she’s clingy and one-track minded and get a little cruel when things that she’s claimed as her own are threatened

she doesn’t have the attention span to date or commit to anything other than her skincare routine but she definitely messes around maybe a lil too much lol hmu about that

all in all, she’s so bored, she was never taught to be mediocre, whatever she’s doing - she’s all in (until she loses interest and drops it halfway but anyway)

hello! i’m excited to be here hoho this is gu seulyi, yeongji’s resident seer & astrology hack from huangmok! she’s like 8.33% sure of all her horoscope-related prophecies lmao but she does actually get some very specific visions so its a toss up in the end : ) here’s her file & under the cut is some additional info! & the usual yknow like this to plot hehe c: i don’t have premade plots yet but feel free to hmu on ims/ask for discord!!

pureblood seer from a very short line of seers! only her dad’s side’s great great grandmother & her grandfather were seers, so this divination thing is a relatively recent addition to the gu family. one of her great great grandmother’s prophecies made the gu family pretty rich, but they’re generally not highly regarded in the wizarding world since they don’t have the history to back themselves up. her mum’s family is the opposite - lots of history, no money whatsoever. therefore - marriage of convenience!

wand wise: hyeonmu scale core (usually denoting wisdom & strength, and turtle shells are used in oracle telling) & silver lime wood (the typical seer wood!) it’s a p stubborn wand that values honesty - it’ll only work for her & people she trusts, and it casts spells that are followed to the exact letter & spirit

her visions are like frames of a movie: she gets a few snapshots and then has to fill in the blanks for everything else. not very useful but very very accurate : ) unfortunately actual divination is a bust for her bc seeing is like breathing to her, and divination is asking her to make the bottom of a teacup breathe. its not happening!!!

went to hogwarts when she was 11 for the ~history~ and was sorted into slytherin. she was p ambivalent about it since she didn’t have any prophecies related to it, and she had some fun there! she fit in surprisingly well bc she is p driven when it comes to things she wants/sees & thinks she wants, plus yknow general pureblood status helped?

was therefore a shock to everyone aside from her when she got sorted into huangmok. on one hand she did lie on the sorting quiz (but! she admitted it at the end & asked to be in huangmok anyway! was that brave enough or was that just fate doing its thing? no one knows) but on the other hand she also saw herself in the huangmok dorms wearing their colours so she was meant to be in this house

there was a bit of a fallout bc her mother’s side have been in jeolgang since the school was founded and the jeolgang kids see her as having ‘betrayed’ their house’s rls w her family while the huangmok kids see her as a jeolgang kid who scammed her way into the house so.... oof

took a gap year bc she Saw herself travelling in sicily in autumn & she figured she couldn’t be in school in that case lmao

astronomy major so she can figure out dates from highly specific placement of planets and shadow angles and which constellations are visible - she remembers almost everything in her visions, so she uses those clues to date her prophecies

the astrology column isn’t really accurate because she takes the prophecies she knows will happen that week & estimates which sign gets which prophecy. unfortunately they’re also highly specific (cancer: if ur from inmyeonjo someone is gonna spill an entire bottle of ink on ur shoes. if ur not from inmyeonjo ur gonna be the one spilling that ink. practice ur scouring charm!) so everyone doesn’t take it that seriously but the cancer kids prob did avoid ink bottles that week anyw lmao

there’s a very thin line between predetermination/free will & she walks it p closely... a lot of her choices are made based on what she sees, so they sort of become self-fulfilling prophecies, but it might have also just been fate?? its not certain if her visions happen bc she saw fate or if she saw it and then made it happen (chara dev in progress ig)

this is too long alr so personality tldr: driven, impartial, attentive, approachable but also detached, inflexible, obsessive, calculative; gets v in her head about things like truth and cause and effect and she’s paradoxically open-minded until she sees something, then she’s v short-sighted about it
