Thinking about a Yosuke who’s crushing hard on Yu, but he genuinely has such bad internalised homophobia, he can’t even accept himself as queer, and, somehow, gets into a situation where he starts using Kanji as an outlet for his pent up romantic frustration, and justifies it to himself that kissing Kanji doesn’t actually ’count’. He basically just kids himself into thinking it’s okay because Kanji wants to kiss *him*, and not the other way round….

Kanji 100% knows he’s being used, but he’s genuinely still trying to figure out his own sexuality, and kind of ends up latching onto Yosuke because he’s never been in any sort of romantic relationship with a guy, and feels this might be his only chance to actually understand himself.

I can definitely still see Yosuke making homophobic jabs and comments at Kanji’s expense whilst in front of their friends, and Kanji lashing out a bit by threatening to spill about their relationship, and also Yosuke’s feelings on Yu (the latter which is definitely completely horrifying to Yosuke, because he genuinely couldn’t imagine his friendship with Yu breaking down). Obviously, I don’t think Kanji would actually legitimately ‘out’ Yosuke, he’d definitely drop even the idea of it real fast, but yknow… I like to imagine their dynamic being kinda fucked up lol
