My thoughts on Pokemon Champions as your local "I don't play competitive but I do know a bit about competitive's politics"ologist:
If it's a battle simulator like Showdown where you can pick the stats of your Pokemon without going stupid lengths to obtain them, then I am hyped. Competitive battling has been inaccessible for so long because you had to obtain every Pokemon you wanted to use, get their stats just right, then EV train them.
im a blissey has a good series on this. competitive battling is essentially a full time job if you get your own Pokemon, with just obtaining your team taking up more time than actually battling. Unless you hack. and hacked Pokemon are banned, even if they could be legitimately obtained.
It's why Showdown is so popular, people don't want to go through that bullshit. So the fact game freak is finally making their own battle simulator is very exciting, even if I don't play competitive.
I really hope, that by "connect" to Pokemon home, they mean the Pokemon you have just appear in the game, without being fully transferred. And naturally, the Pokemon you make up can't be transferred out
But the thing is. It really has to be like Showdown. You need to be able to pick your Pokemon's EVs and IVs. It can't be a luck of the draw. And it really can't be like Battle Revolution where there are premade Pokemon and those are the only ones you can use without connecting to HOME. Otherwise it just won't compete with Showdown. It'll miss the mark entirely.
Now, there will be people who use Showdown regardless. Whether because they're used to it or because they like Smogon's battle rules more. But this will make competitive battling accessible to so many more people.
If, and only if, it is like Showdown. If it really is Battle Revolution again they'll have fucked it.

Hi, Ara. Hope your finals went well. Take rest and don't stress~ I wanted to ask you a question which is pretty random. The other day someone asked me if I still read fanfics(we wrote BAADDD fanfics together long time ago...IDK WHY XD). I said yes and idk if I'm overthinking but she reacted in a not-so-positive way(?), so like is there anything to be ashamed about reading fanfiction? You don't have to answer this but I thought I'd ask you since you're so wise and kind. Lots of love❤❤❤
hii, love! you’re so sweet!! ❤️❤️❤️
and i noticed that writing/reading fanfics is not something that non-fandom people react to in a positive way. i always found that almost childish and closed-minded. fanfiction is incredible because it combines so many different genres; you’ll find sci-fi, romance, thrillers, historical fiction, etc. and all of these stories feature characters you already love. there are so many incredible fanfic writers who would end up producing best-sellers if they published their work.
the only way reading fanfics could be wrong or shameful is if reading books was shameful.
ngl, you’ll catch me in a retirement home in 50 years, reading third generation k-pop fanfics 🤷♀
she’s a sticker on my redbubble now, y’all
@uccisore Continued from here.
This... young lady’s creative use of the English Language causes more than just some shifting with his person; unease rocking of his heeled feet, hands clasped along the small of his back. In truth, it took a moment to realize the definitions of the fouler words to his own native tongues. “Yes... you’re quite right, Ms. I couldn’t have put it better, in truth.”
She... wasn’t entirely wrong about the shin bit, though.
