I teach the 12-13 girls at my church and this week we did a Mommy and Me activity. The theme was Creating a Masterpiece. I talked about Michelangelo and his statues of the Slaves. Each one is thought to be unfinished, where He was in the process of releasing the figure within the marble. I likened that to how God is creating Masterpieces of us by chipping away the faults and weaknesses, to reveal the Masterpiece He know we can be. I made this handout for the girls to take home to remind them who they are. This statue is in the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence Italy. I got to see it about a year and a half ago. I thought it fit perfectly with the message. I hope you remember whose you are and what He is creating in you!
