Most Americans think the Trump administration is covering up evidence in the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s federal case, according to a new poll.

A poll conducted by The Economist and YouGov from July 11 to 14 found 67 percent of Americans believe the government is hiding evidence related to the late financier, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges related to the sexual abuse of dozens of minor girls. He had pleaded guilty in 2008 to Florida charges of soliciting and procuring a minor for prostitution.

Half of Americans support the abolition of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, a new poll has found, as opposition to Donald Trump’s aggressive federal immigration crackdown continues to grow. The analysis by YouGov revealed that exactly 50% of respondents “strongly or somewhat” want to see the agency dismantled, a 5% rise from a January poll taken between the deaths in Minnesota of US citizen protesters Renee Good and Alex Pretti by immigration officers.

Only 39% said they opposed abolishing ICE, a significant drop from January when those for and against were evenly split at 45%. The latest poll is the first time that the number of Americans calling for scrapping the agency, a frequent demand of leftwing Democrats, has reached 50%, YouGov said. It mirrors an NBC poll last month that showed 49% disapproval of Trump’s handling of border security and immigration, traditionally a vote winner from his Republican base. The revelation comes amid an ongoing partial government shutdown over funding of the homeland security department responsible for implementing the Trump administration’s often violent detention and deportation policies. [...] A breakdown of Wednesday’s YouGov poll shows that 77% of Democrats and 52% of independents support abolishing ICE. Most Republican supporters, 68%, continue to oppose abolition, although the number in favor of it grew to 23%, a “high point” according to YouGov.

According to a new YouGov poll conducted between February 27th and March 2nd, 50% of Americans surveyed support the abolishment of ICE and 39% support keeping ICE.

The 33% approval for Trump's inrervention in Venezuela is even lower than his overall approval rating.

And a 65% approval for Trump's Venezuela adventure by Republicans is actually rather tepid.

A YouGov survey shows somewhat similar results.

Trump campaigned on "America First" and isolationism. He ranted against American interventions in the past. Now he's conducting an intervention essentially to grab another country's oil.

Right wing anti-trans propaganda has had considerable affect on the mindset voters take towards trans people in the last four years. Remember that in the US, Republicans spent $222 million on trans focused ads, while Dems spent around 1/10th. The Harris is for they/them ad was $49 million in Republican spending alone, TWICE what dems spent in total.

Realistically, there is little trans people can do themselves to counter this. Its a group with only a few prominent individuals and no one wealthy enough to counter it. On top of that, its a minute demographic without electoral sway, who relies on allies to keep the rights they have had for centuries.

YouGov’s predictions were the most accurate in seats won for the 2024 general election, and second most accurate for popular vote. Having only 11% between 1st and 5th is very interesting. Three way marginals are hard to predict in a general election, but England is turning into a five-way marginal. Plaid and the SNP will make Wales and Scotland into six-way races.
