ように、ようになる、ようにする

ように means "in order to", "so that".

However, in the examples I'm seeing in Minna no Nihongo, it also seems to mean something like "try to", like in this sentence:

毎日日記を書くようにしています。which means I try to write a diary every day.

I checked JLPT-sensei's website and did find info on ようにする.

The conjugations for verbs needed for ように are pretty straightforward, just dictionary form or the corresponding negative form, as tabled by JLPT-sensei:

ようになる seems to mean "to be able to". I checked JLPT-sensei's website again and found this.

Sample sentences:

やっと自転車に乗れるようになりました。(I am finally able to ride a bicycle.)

ショパンの曲が弾けるようになりましたか。(Have you learned to play Chopin's music?)

My other MYO for the Light Youni species by @_sourann who will function as the sister of Jemisha. Her name's Leora which is Greek for compassion/light. She was originally not going to have those wings in the back, but after looking at it, it felt too white and empty, so I decided to give her the wings after looking at some other existing younis (honestly, the creator had some species and their sheets, bit then decided to delete them in an attempt to start fresh or something???) Her outfit is actually a modification of two outfits to fit together because they looked cute and lonely by themselves.
