I don't really know, actually. I like to help people, but I can't really name one specific nice thing I've ever done.

I both like and dislike it. I've got a bunch of really good friends and I've got nice teachers too, but it's really boring sometimes and I've got a lot of homework :/.

In one of the answers of our survey someone asks why we didn’t include music in our project as it’s obviously a very popular, diverse and interesting artform. The truth is we would’ve liked to put it in, just as we would’ve liked to add film to the list. but there are two very important reasons why we didn’t. or actually there’s one reason which later became two.

The most important reason is that it’s so very popular. i don’t think theres anyone who doesn’t listen to music or watches tv. 

our target group are young people and even though basically everyone loves a certain type of music or tv not everyone is interested in the more “obscure” types of art. if we would’ve asked about music or tv almost everyone without question would’ve answered that those are their favourites. It would kind off defeat the purpose of our research. 

so we decided leave those out but in order to do that we had to change our main question, make it more precise. Thus we made this research about the visual arts.

Visual arts are artforms that mostly just appeal to the eye. There is no hearing, tasting or feeling required, only seeing. The question might arise why we didnt add architecture or fashion to the list, as these are artforms for which you don't exactly need to do anything besides seeing, but visual art is also an artform which doesn't allow a practical function or any other function besides being art. Buildings are, besides an artform, also a place to live or work in and clothes are worn. Though if i'm honest fashion is debatable as some designer outfits obviously aren't exactly meant to be worn but only to be seen, in which case you could argue they are visual art. Just to make it easier on ourselves, we decided to leave that one out.

So in conclusion; music and film aren't visual arts and they're both too popular, everyone would answer those.

hello everyone! We just closed our survey so we can't receive anymore responses. YOU CAN'T SUBMIT RESPONSES TO OUR SURVEY ANYMORE. We decided that 150 (!) response were more than enough, as we also have to interview about the same amount of people at our school. we might re-open the survey if we somehow can interview more than 150 people at our school but that seems unlikely. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP AND FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THIS PROJECT we are eternally gratefull. we won't stop posting things on our blog though, as you can see we've started reading your responses and our personal favourites will get a specially designed place on our blog. We also still have to interview people who either study something artsy or do something artsy and we'll post those interviews too.
