⠀ ᴛᴏɴɪɢʜᴛ ɪ'ᴍ sʟᴇᴇᴘɪɴɢ ᴡɪᴅᴇ ᴀᴡᴀᴋᴇ how incurable is that. my soul feels pure there and hardly anywhere else. i miss the way those blinding lights make one feel at home, and as if in the right place, and as if belonging to life itself — messy, ridiculous, somewhat hostile, noisy, knocking you off your way and putting you back together. i miss feeling uncomfortable each damn moment, i miss being drunk in nyc, being high in nyc, laughing out loud in nyc, feeing hungry in nyc, occasionally dropping a kebab on myself at colombus circle, finding ourselves in the same coffee place in brooklyn, unreasonable flea markets, night air-tram rides, thanksgiving with donuts and terrible coffee, freezing cold by the water, quite obscene shows at 2 a.m., whitney, village, harlem, upper east side, dunkin donuts, strawberry fields and writing about o’hara while holding the hand of his ghost. i don’t know if there is a right way to have a life in nyc but i’m pretty sure our way was more than i ever dreamed of. dear city, you made me feel seventeen again, silly and confused, having no clue of what is going to happen, doing embarrassing things and letting the whole perception of life to crumble & i will always be grateful for your evil innocence. and now i beg you to let me go, don’t save my place but may we meet again. ⠀ ⠀ #yoursoftny #yoursoftstates (at Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu1tSUSHKsf/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1bpp4qdawqli
