A Certain Sleepy Costume Making Day

Quiet sounds of a needle and string going in and out of fabric filled the room for hours as the Costume Designers of Aqours, Ruby and You were focused on finishing up the next outfit the girls were going to wear.

Ruby could go on and on with her lips curving upwards every now and then as whenever her attention faltered or motivation depletes, she just had to look up to see her senior, fellow idol group mate and good friend AKA You, and she’ll nod to herself with newfound determination.

You-chan is working hard so Ruby got to work harder too!!

Ruby’s eyebrows furrowed as she looked at the outfit’s sleeves she was working on. She felt a little greedy, however, as she peeked back up to see You once more; getting slightly lost in You’s eyes that held the sky and mystical ocean.

You-chan’s eyelashes are rather long and pretty…

Ruby feels her cheeks pinkens as she realized she was staring a lot, so she shook her head, her twintails fluttering lightly before she returned to sewing.

After some time of focus, Ruby could not kick the habit of staring at You every 5, 10, or 15-minute interval for that boost of motivation. And that’s when she notices that the ash-brunette has dozed off.

Ah. You-chan…she fell asleep.

Ruby swallows audibly, though it does not wake the swimmer.

You-chan’s sleeping face… so rare and… beautiful…

Ruby shuffles closer and sits beside You, taking away the costume You was sewing so that both You's hard work and You will be safe from the needle being held carelessly in sleeping hands.

As always, You-chan does amazing work making costumes… I want to wear all that she makes~

Ruby admires You’s progress thus far before going back to being close to the high diver whose breathing was soft and constant; sleepy.

You-chan’s sleeping sounds…

Ruby tries her rubesty to calm her racing heart so that she could focus on listening to You’s breathing but it was tough, Ruby’s heart drummed relentlessly against her ribcage like a song of being in love.

You-chan…

Ruby inches just a bit more closer so that their thighs and shoulders are touching as the redhead continues working on the outfit she was making.

After some time though, Ruby gets sleepy too. Perhaps it was the gentle warmth from You to her, or the lull of You’s rhythmic breathing. Either way, Ruby gives in to the temptation of resting with You who had her back resting against Ruby’s bed.

Just a short nap…wouldn’t hurt right?

Ruby carefully puts away the outfit she's working on before indulging in laying on You's lap, snuggling comfortably, sighing blissfully.

Ahh…~ This must be bliss.

Ruby grins as she rubs her cheeks against You’s lap she nestled in.

Somehow… I feel so safe…and warm…whenever I’m beside You-chan…

Ruby reaches over blindly to take You’s hand into her own, holding You’s hand as her eyelids grew heavy.

You-chan… I love you…

.

You wakes up with a slight jolt, wondering what time is it and where's Ruby as she turned her head left and right, her bleary eyes still holding sleepiness searched the place.

Till she notices that Ruby was laying on her lap, a look of peaceful and cute – You smiles softly at that, spending a moment of appreciating Ruby’s affectionate daringness in sleeping on her lap when she fell asleep by accident.

You notices that Ruby and her both had a blanket over them, one each. And she could guess that Dia gifted them with warm blankets and more time to sleep when she came to check on them, whenever that was.

You reaches for her phone that was thankfully close enough. She notes that the last bus already left long ago so she came to an agreement of not panicking or rushing to call her mum about being unable to go home.

You places her phone beside her and gazes down at Ruby curled facing inwards, facing towards her… The ash-brunette gently tucks stray hair from Ruby's face to smile lovingly down at the sleeping redhead.

You whispers, "You're such a hard worker... A cute one."

You giggles softly to herself, entranced by Ruby's adorable and serene sleeping face. Ruby makes a quiet sleepy moan while You caresses Ruby's hair with that soft loving gaze never leaving Ruby.

After a moment, You leans close to Ruby's ear, whispering, her breath hot over Ruby's ear that burnt a hot red, "Ruby-chan... I love you."

You then falls asleep again after squeezing Ruby's hand that was holding hers, her hand caressing Ruby's hair softly falling to her side, failing to notice Ruby's blushing ears and flushed cheeks.

You-chan...why are you so cool???

Ruby rubs her blush-covered head further into You’s thighs as she carried out her decision to sleep with You like this tonight. Or at least, try her best to when her palms are sweaty from nerves and holding You’s hand plus her heart fluttered noisily inside.

How You woke again later to princess carry Ruby into bed and slept with her, is another story for another time.
