yuji being absolutely oblivious to his feelings for you
everyone is 18+ // yuji x fem!reader // just fluff // no use of y/n // gb yuji he's so lost man // drabble // yuji is oblivious // he's a cutie who just has his head in the clouds // he's madly in love w/ reader and just doesn't realize it // megumi and nobara will need some shots after this one lolol yuji put them THROUGH it
part one , part two
notes: had this one in the drafts for a bit and wanted to finish it, bc I thought it was just a cute lil idea <3
"You totally like her," Nobara says, like it's the most obvious thing in the world to everyone but Yuji.
"Definitely not," Yuji shakes his head immediately. "I'm pretty sure I'd know if I liked her like that."
"You sure?" Megumi snorts, and Nobara shoots him a look that alone proves her entire point.
Yuji groans, "Guys, stop… she's just like… a good friend, that's all."
Megumi rolls his eyes, "A good friend? You're practically clinging to her like a lost puppy."
"Am not."
"Yeah?" Megumi leans forward, really emphasizing his next words. "So if she walked in right now, you wouldn't be glued to her side."
"I only do that because it makes her feel safe," he answers, quickly brushing Megumi off.
Nobara chokes back a laugh, "Her? Please. More like you're so damn whipped you're basically turning into her guard dog."
"I swearrrr," Yuji drags out his words, lip jutting into a pout, looking pitiful as ever.
"Then explain why you're always making excuses to touch her," Megumi cuts in, looking at him like there's no way he can talk his way out of this one.
"What do you mean?" He actually pauses, taking a moment to think it over. "I never do that– I mean, yeah, we hug a lot… and I pick her up sometimes, maybe spin her around a bit, but like so what? Every guy does that."
They both just stare at him, wide-eyed like this is the moment when it should all dawn on him, that he's madly in love with you.
"... No, they don't??" They both say in unison after a moment, realizing that Yuji is beyond the point of help.
Yuji blinks. "They don't?"
"God," Nobara mutters, her hands rubbing down her face, trying to process how it's even possible to be this oblivious.
"He's worse than we thought," Megumi adds, shaking his head, partly pitying his friend for being so unaware of his own feelings.
"Wait– you guys have been talking about me?" Yuji looks between them, a little shocked they would do such a thing.
"Only because you're so damn oblivious it's painful," Megumi says flatly.
"I swear I don't–"
"Then what do you like about her?" Megumi cuts him off again, not having any of Yuji's excuses.
For a second, Yuji doesn't answer—too caught up in trying to figure out where to even start. God, there's too much, too many little things he likes about you, that he can't even begin to narrow it down.
He lets his eyes wander to the ceiling, as if it'll help him find all the right words. "I mean… everything? Her smile, her laugh… the way her hand fits in mine."
"So you're saying you held her hand, Itadori–" Megumi's pinching the bridge of his nose, trying to find a way to get it through his thick head. "You held her goddamn hand."
"Yeah?" Yuji rubs the back of his neck, smiling a little. "Her hands were small too, so perfect in my hands… like they were made just for mine–"
They're still staring at Yuji when it finally hits him.
"Holy shit I'm in love with her."

part one , part two
"You've been acting weird," you say as Yuji starts to pull his hand from yours.
"Weird? Me?" He shakes his head, quickly flashing you his boyish grin that says 'everything is totally fine'.
"Yes, weird, you." You put your hands on your hips with a little pout when he fully slips his hand from yours. "Stop bullshitting me, Yu. I know you."
"I-" He's suddenly at a complete loss for words—how the hell is he supposed to tell you he's in love with you? That's why he's been acting so weird lately, pulling away because he can hardly think straight whenever you're near him now. And the small touches, they all feel too much, too much when his heart races anytime your fingers intertwine with his.
And the thought of telling you all this, that he could lose you over his feelings? It already has him spiraling, scared to lose even a sliver of you.
"I… uh- I just…" His eyes dart past you as he puts a little distance between you two, and the movement alone leaves a pit forming in your stomach.
"If you don't want to be friends or something… You can just tell me."
"Wait- what? No," He shakes his head, hands instinctively pulling you into his chest before he can even think about it. His arms wrap tightly around you, muscles flexing as he holds you closer. "Never that."
"Then why are you acting like this?" You ask quietly, "One minute you're like this, holding me. And the next you're so… distant."
The guilt's already eating him alive, hearing the hurt in your voice. Knowing he's the reason you've been feeling like this, all because he's been too scared to tell you how he really feels.
"Honestly," He lets out a shaky breath, mumbling softly in your hair. "I'm scared… so damn scared."
"Of what?" You ask, lashes fluttering up at him. "It's just me."
He laughs softly, "Just you?" His eyes flick to your lips—fuck, he just wants to kiss you. "You say that like it's any easier."
"C'mon, Yu." You lean up, pressing a reassuring kiss to his cheek.
His cheeks heat, "S-shit, you can't do stuff like that."
"Like what?" You ask, leaning in again, pressing another quick kiss to his cheek. "This?"
He's left a stuttering mess, "y-yes, that," and before you have the chance to tease him any further, he blurts, "I'm just scared of losing you."
"Losing me?" Your smile falters, "You'll never lose me, Yu."
"Just… promise after, we can go back to normal," he looks down at you with pleading eyes, as if he needs to hear you say it, needing to hear he can take it all back, that it wouldn't change anything between the two of you. "And you'll forget I said anything at all?"
"Promise," you say, offering your pinky.
He laces his pinky with yours, taking a deep breath as he squeezes his eyes shut like he's bracing for impact. "Fuck, I'm so nervous." He lets out an awkward laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's just… every time I look at you, all I can think about is how pretty you are," he cups your face in his hands, thumbs gently brushing your cheeks, "what it would feel like to kiss you."
Slowly, he leans in, "it makes it really hard to think about anything else," he murmurs, stopping only inches from your face. "Truth is, I don't want to be your friend."
Yuji can't stop looking at your lips, and god, it doesn't help, it's been the only thing he's been able to think about for weeks—kissing you, holding you… touching you. And when you don't pull away, looking like you want to kiss him just as bad, he closes the distance.
"I want more with you." His lips brush over yours, "I want you."
Your pulse races as his lips press against yours, slow, almost timid, as he nips at your bottom lip, desperately wanting to know how you taste. And when your tongue slips past his, he can't help but stifle a moan into your mouth, letting himself get lost in you entirely.
"I love you," he murmurs against your lips.
When a moment passes, and you don't say anything back, he starts to pull away.
"I'm sorry if that's too soon-"
Your lips crash against his, hands threading through his pink hair as you pull him right back down to you, kissing him deeper because god, you need him to know you want him just as much. And if he had given you a moment, you'd tell him that a million times over.
"I love you too, Yu." You laugh softly, pulling away from the kiss. "You didn't even give me the chance to say it back."
He pouts, "You took so long, I thought you didn't feel the same."
Now you're full on giggling, "it was hardly even a second."
"And that's too long."
"You're just gonna have to learn how to be patient," you tease further, too caught up in how cute he looks when he's all pouty.
"That's impossible when I'm in love with such a pretty girl." his sudden rasp catches you off guard as he nips at your bottom lip. "Makes me not wanna be patient."
"Yuji-" Your breath catches as he trails kisses along your neck, sucking at your sensitive skin.
"Shh, baby…" The sudden petname has your knees feeling weak, "I need this- you… please."
You only manage a nod as he continues nipping at your skin, sucking purple marks until everyone knows you're his.
"I want everyone to know you're only mine," he trails his kisses back to your lips, stopping to admire how beautiful you look when you're all flustered and breathless.
"Only yours," you say back, between breaths.
"Promise?" he asks, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
"Promise."

yuji who worries way too much about his pregnant wife
cw/notes: no use of y/n // drabble // fluff and a hint of hurt/comfort (kinda idk) // everyone is 18+ // yuji worries a bunch // readers hormones r crazy and she cantttt w/ his ass // might be a bit too accurate on pregnancy sucking ass bc Ive actually lived it lol // yuji is so cutesy in this // yelling at yuji then feeling bad and taking it back // making yuji upset
"Did you remember to do your kick counts?"
"Are you sure you're drinking enough water?"
"What the hell are you doing!?" Is what Yuji usually yells when he practically lunges at you for trying to carry anything remotely heavy.
"You think it's too early to pack the hospital bag… or?"
These are all things your husband, Yuji Itadori, has asked you since tagging along to all your ob appointments, and ever since he's been driving you crazy trying to make sure you follow the doctor's orders to a t. He's constantly hovering, worrying—and it shouldn't bother you, not when you know he means well, but god, he's damn near suffocating you. Always asking questions, trailing behind you anywhere you go (even if you waddle faster), and you swear if he asks about your kick count one more time, you might actually lose it.
Yuji stops in front of you—in front of the show you're watching, more specifically, "Did you take your prenatals toda-"
"Yuji!" You finally snap, making him visibly flinch at your sudden harshness. "Can you just stop talking for one second and leave me alone!?"
As soon as the words leave your lips, you instantly wish you could take them all back, and it's only made worse when you see him retreat a little, slowly backing away, trying hard not to look at you when his eyes start to burn.
It feels horrible seeing him like this, knowing you only said it in the heat of the moment, not because you meant any of it. Sure, he's been getting on your nerves lately, but that's only because your hormones have been completely out of wack, and pregnancy? Every week has you more miserable than the last, which does nothing to help your thinning patience. But even you know none of that excuses what you said, not when he does everything to make sure you're treated like a princess.
"Sorry- I didn't…" He trails off, unable to look you in the eye. The thought that he'd been getting on your nerves this whole time, when he was only trying to help, has his heart sinking.
You're already at your feet before he has the chance to walk away, "No, Yu, don't go." Your arms wrap tightly around him as tears start to well in your eyes. "I didn't mean it, I promise."
He lets out a soft sigh, his hands immediately going to your hair, fingers gently running through the strands, before moving to wipe the tears starting to spill over.
"It's okay, beautiful," he murmurs softly, pressing a kiss to your damp cheek.
"But I made you feel bad," You sob into his hoodie, drenching the fabric as you hug him tighter. "I'm a horrible wife, a horrible partner, god… I'm gonna be a horrible mom too."
The tears keep coming, and it only makes him hold you closer, "Shh… It's not your fault," He whispers softly into your hair. "You're not a bad wife or partner, and you won't be a bad mother. That's impossible. You're just feeling overwhelmed and pregnant… and…"
You sniffle as you look up at him through puffy eyes.
"And… sometimes I can be too much," he quietly admits, "I just worry a lot. You and our baby? You guys are my everything, my entire life now."
You shift to your tiptoes, throwing your arms around his neck as you pull him down to you. "I love you so, so much, Yu." You pull away, "You know that, right?"
He nods, pressing his forehead to yours, "I love you too, beautiful."
Then, slowly, he drops to his knees, "And you." He says softly, keeping his voice low so he won't 'scare' the baby.
He peppers endless kisses along your growing bump, leaving you a giggling mess as you realize in this moment that you're right where you want to be—with your loving, over-caring husband who manages to do too much and exactly what you need.

Who knew Yuji Itadori loved your baking so much!? - mdni 18+
husband!yuji x fem!reader // mdni 18+ // kinda cutesy fluff w/ hint of smut/sexual content // no use of y/n // yuji is still in love w/ reader even after yearssss // he's an ass guy // hed eat anything for u ;)
notes: made this post using top and bottom banners by my moot @condybunny <3 u guys should follow her, she JUST STARTED making them and they are CUTE!!! def wont regret it guys trusttt
Yuji can already smell it, the sweet, sweet aroma of his beautiful wife's baking. No doubt it's one of his favorite things you do for him, especially with how happy you always look when he scarfs everything down—even if he doesn't have the heart to tell you he's not really a sweets guy.
But when your eyes light up from his little moans of enjoyment, damn near sparkling from how excited you are, he can't help but want to replicate that look a million times over. Not to mention the way you get all flustered, cheeks flaring at those same little moans that made you so happy only seconds ago, now have you rubbing your thighs together, desperately trying to ignore the need pooling low in your stomach.
And fuck if that wasn't sexy enough, you always wear your favorite little apron. Always tied into a bow in the back, like a present for him to unwrap. Of course, that's the only thing you have on, besides your little lacey thongs that leave little to the imagination—such a tease.
You've always been good at getting him all needy for you, fluttering those coy lashes like you're innocent in it all. And by the time you're bent over, pulling out your last tray of his cookies, his cock's straining against the band of his pants, that little apron of yours hiking up around the pretty dip of your hips, while your ass swallows that tiny string whole... and damn.
Who knew he'd love baking so much?
As always thanks for all reblogs, comments, and likes!!
── .✦ Going on a road trip with your bff, Yuji Itadori, and somewhere between the endless miles your relationship starts to blur.
bff!yuji x fem!reader // drabble // everyone is 18+ // no use of y/n // fluffff // going on a road trip w/ yujiiiiiii // yuji out here getting reader to do all sorts of things that she never would'veeee // bff to implied lovers // bit of yearning // they both really really like each other // two idiots in love // yuji is a smiley dork and its adorable // yuji is literally the greenist flag and so gentle and caring // yuji lowk scared to push things
If it wasn't for your best friend, Yuji Itadori, you couldn't imagine yourself doing something like this, ever—traveling across the country, driving for hours on end until your eyes are too heavy from exhaustion. And despite all the time you've spent trapped in a car together, there hasn't been a single dull moment.
Not with Yuji beside you, filling the long stretches of road with endless chatter that you've grown to love more than you'd ever care to admit. And when there are those quiet moments, it's easy with him, like neither of you has to force a conversation just to fill the silence. But it's always been easy with him, you've just never noticed it before, and now you find yourself dreading the thought of going home, not knowing what that means for the two of you.
Will you go your separate ways? Will this fleeting moment in time become another one of those memories, the special ones your mind reaches for as you drift to sleep, chasing the lingering warmth of something you never realized you'd miss so much. And the thought of him—with his messy pink hair, or that dorky smile that reaches from ear to ear—not being there anymore has your heart sinking deep in your chest.
You guess somewhere between the countless miles, the lines between your friendship began to blur. You're not sure when it happened, and honestly, neither does he.
But it's a shared quiet longing, found in the little moments—when you rest your head on his shoulder, his hands finding their way to your hair, gently playing with the strands until your drifting to sleep in his arms. He never moves you. No, he lets you sleep on him for as long as you want. And one night, when you're half asleep, you swear you feel the faint press of soft lips against your forehead.
And when the two of you finally find that perfect spot, your last stop, there's a finality to it all.
It's dark, almost midnight by the time you arrive, and there's a quiet disappointment hanging between you both, knowing it took the entire night to get here. But neither of you says anything, unwilling to ruin the moment.
Truth is, it's still just as beautiful at night, maybe more so, because you're here together.
He slowly inches closer to you, a little awkwardly, letting out a breathy laugh as he rubs the back of his neck, like he always does when he gets all flustered.
"It really is something," he murmurs, and even though he's facing the view from the grassy cliffside, looking out at the twinkling sky, his eyes drift back to you as he says it. "I've never seen anything so beautiful."
Your eyes wander all the same, "me either."
Slowly, his hand slips to the small of your back, his touch gentle and almost hesitant, like he's still not sure if he's allowed to do something like this yet.
You move closer, close enough that your head rests against him, his arm now fully wrapped around you, holding you, as his head rests on yours, wishing it was possible to slow time, to put a pause on life and exist here with him forever.
"You know I wasn't talking about the sky, right?"
The corner of your lip quirks up at his question. "You know I wasn't either?"
The two of you share a soft laugh, and as it slowly fades, you're left with something else. Something neither of you has been willing to address, the one question lingering between you since the very start of this trip.
"What'll happen after all of this…?" You ask, your voice coming out smaller than you intended.
"Honestly, I don't know," there's hurt in his voice as he quietly admits it. "I just know I never want this to end."
"But… tomorrow we go home."
"What if we didn't?"
"…go home?" You ask, staring at him like he's completely lost his mind.
"Yeah, why not?" He asks, a familiar glint twinkling in his eyes. "I don't want to leave, you don't want to leave… what's stopping us?"
You bite your lip, thinking it over, and god, it's only Yuji who could make you nod yes to something like this. Your hand slips into his, the two of you smiling like a couple of idiots.
"Sure," you say, unable to stop the ridiculous smile on your face. "Why not?"

"Are you ready?" You call out from outside the bathroom door.
Your boyfriend, Yuji Itadori, swore it would be way more fun for the two of you to reveal your matching pj bottoms at the same time.
"Yeah," he answers, already reaching for the doorknob.
And when you finally see him, your hands go flying to your mouth, in utter shock—how is it possible for someone to look this adorable? He stands there, flashing his boyish grin as he flashes you a little pose, pulling a soft laugh from you.
"Oh my god," your hands never leave your mouth, your eyes sparkling in awe. "You're so cute!"
"Thank you, baby." He's already closing this distance, his arms slipping around your waist as he pulls you close. "And you look pretty as ever."
His nose brushes against yours before capturing your lips in a slow, longing kiss. Then, without warning, his hands slide to the curve of your ass, palming as he lifts you off the floor with ease.
"Yu-!" You squeal, instinctively wrapping your arms around his neck.
"Shh," he can't help but laugh at how cute you are. "Fushiguro's gonna think we're doing something else."
Your cheeks flare in realization, "I-it didn't sound like that."
"Mmmm," he pretends to be in deep thought, trying hard to fight back a laugh. "I dunno about that."
"Y-yu stopp," you plead, your entire body burning with embarrassment at the thought of what Megumi might think.
"I'm just saying-" God, he's such an asshole for teasing you like this, but it's hard to control himself when you get all cute and blushy like this—your cheeks nearly the same shade as your Spiderman pjs.
"Yujiiii," you whine, your bottom lip pushing into a pout as you give him the biggest puppy dog eyes that would have anyone folding.
"I know, I know." He presses a kiss to your flustered cheeks. "You're just so adorable when you get like this."
"You're gonna be the death of me," you try to keep pouting, but it's impossible when he keeps peppering kisses all over your face, leaving you a giggling mess.
The corner of his lips quirks up at that, "cuddles and movies?"
"After that stunt?"
"Pretty please," he bats his lashes at you, earning another soft laugh from you. "I'll be good, I promise."
"Fine," you playfully roll your eyes, secretly loving when he gets this way for you.
"Best behavior only," he winks before tossing you onto his bed, earning another squeal from you that your mind racing back to what he said earlier—and you swear you hear a breathy laugh coming from your boyfriend.
"This is the opposite of best behavior-" you protest, but he's already lying beside you, scooping you up in his big arms.
"Well, then, starting now, I'll be on my best behavior," he says, giving you a smirk that has you knowing he'll be anything but.

⋆˚。⋆୨୧ Synopsis: It's been years since you last heard the name Yuji Itadori. A name that once rolled off your tongue so easily now appears in an email request offering you a freelance programming opportunity.
Which should be impossible when the Yuji you knew, transferred across the world after a one-off fling between you two during your junior year of college, without saying a word. And yet, there he is. Standing in front of you like time hasn't passed at all. Like the world froze when he left and only started moving the moment he moved back home.
But, what you think is a simple job consultation, ends up with you being way in over your head. When Yuji offers a proposition that you can't refuse, you have no other option than to go along with his plan, to fool everyone into thinking you're a couple.
୨୧ Content Warning: ceo/fake dating au, overall warning from here on, this story will contain smut, angst, pining, yearning... y'know I can't write Yuji if he isn't down bad. No use of y/n! And for the sake of saying it, everyone is 18+ lowk smut w plot, also he looks like modulo Yuji bc he's like 30's or smth, yuji def needs therapy... at this point ill pay
୨୧ Word Count: 1.9k
୨୧ Notes: Thought it'd be fun to make the reader a programmer, since I'm actually going to college to be a software engineer. Fingers crossed for graduating in August btw guys, but we'll seeeeee
୨୧ Another Note: I can't remember where the top dividers come from, but the divider below is from @ferretmilkshakezzz , I'm also not sure where the fanart is from I just found it on Pinterest. If you guys know who made the fanart just lmk in the comments, so I can give them a proper tag!
Let me know in the comments/dm if you want to be added to the 'tag' list!
Yuji Itadori has only recently been anointed heir to the thriving company, Itadori Co., following the sudden passing of his grandfather. The death comes without warning, catching the entire company—hell, the whole world—by surprise.
Tabloids are quick to latch onto the story, creating carefully crafted narratives, “Yuji Itadori, New CEO of Itadori Co.," Which was almost always followed by the inevitable question, “Will he be capable of keeping his family’s generational empire afloat… or will he let it sink?”
And that isn't even counting the endless stream of speculation about his sudden return after all these years. Most of it leaning toward scandalous accusations, rumors painting him as a reckless womanizer, or worse, a selfish, greedy grandson who only bothered coming home once a hefty inheritance was within reach.
Of course, Yuji half expected to get as much attention. Even after doing everything the 'right' way, prestigious universities, successful startups, and a resume impressive enough to silence most critics. It doesn't seem to matter. Not when the truth is boring compared to the public's countless theories.
Meanwhile, you're completely unaware he's even back in the country.
Too busy drowning in the constant stream of freelance work. Between building websites and designing databases capable of handling some of the largest companies' customer data, you're permanently swamped. Half the time you don't even remember when one project begins and ends.
Somehow, making your way to the 'top', so that you could kick up your feet, quit your traditional job and 'make your own hours', turned into never getting a full night's sleep and working your ass off 24/7.
Living the dream, apparently.
So when you refresh your inbox between projects and see a name flash across your screen, one you haven't heard in years, you genuinely think your brain is fucking with you.
You still, as you read the name again.
And again.
Yuji Itadori, clear as day.
You just sit there, convincing yourself you're losing it from the lack of sleep, that maybe this is your sign to finally start taking your health more seriously, instead of saying 'fuck it' and downing three Red Bulls every night.
Either way, there's no way it's actually him... right?
Before you can talk yourself out of it, you find yourself searching his name in a new tab—there's nothing quite like a little internet stalking to solve your problems. Except, instead of being met with the usual social media pages, you're immediately overwhelmed with a flood of articles.
Your eyes skim across them without really meaning to.
The typical headlines appear first, articles about him inheriting the company and stepping up as the new CEO. But it doesn't take long before you see the countless pieces debating Yuji's character, strangers online dissecting his morality as if they know him personally.
Your stomach twists when you make the mistake of opening the comment section, where people are saying truly vile shit about him without a second thought.
It's harder to read than you expect. Even when you're not sure where you stand with him after all those years. Hell, you're not even sure you have a place in his life at all. But seeing strangers tear him apart leaves a bitter taste in your mouth.
Scrolling further, you land on a much more scandalous article.
Your eyes widen as you skim the first few lines:
Reporters claim Mr. Itadori was spotted leaving a strip club late last night, two women hanging off either arm. Sources say the newly appointed CEO has developed quite a reputation behind closed doors, with whispers circulating through the city about his 'impressive size' and the kind of late-night company he keeps.
“Oh—!" Heat rushes to your cheeks as you fumble for the mouse, hastily closing out of the tab, as if you just saw something you shouldn't have.
You take a second, shaking your head as if trying to scrub what you just read from your memory, before going back to the email.
The message itself is simple and straight to the point. A request to book a consultation regarding some company revisions.
You send a reply back:
Hey! Thanks for reaching out, I've got several slots available.
A lie.
Your schedule is an utter nightmare right now, but you'd gladly shove a few projects aside if it means seeing Yuji again. Even if you have absolutely no idea what to say to him once you do.
Would tomorrow morning work for you?
You hit send before you have the chance to overthink it.
Almost instantly, your inbox pings.
You blink. How could he even respond that quick!?
Tomorrow sounds great! I'll try not to keep you too long, just looking over a few possible company revisions. Hope to see you tomorrow, just let me know where.
You send over the address to a small coffee shop just a few blocks away from your apartment.
At least there'll be plenty of people around if this ends up being some weird creep, instead of Yuji.
You lean back in your chair, staring up at the ceiling.
Tomorrow morning, you’re about to see him again. After all this time.
Years of silence on his end, now broken over something as simple as work. Of all things... and it just feels odd, why now?
You computer pings again, snapping you out of your thoughts:
Sounds perfect. See you then.
And suddenly, for once, you realize you’re not thinking about work.
୨୧︶︶୨୧︶︶୨୧
That morning you show up at the coffee shop earlier than you meant too, way too early if you're being honest. But you couldn't help it, not when you barely got a wink of sleep thinking about seeing Yuji again.
The coffee shop wasn't very busy when you walk in, just the sounds of baristas making their way around the espresso machines and syrup counters. You order a latte out of habit more than anything and settle into a booth tucked toward the back corner.
You take a sip from your cup, as you try to busy yourself with your phone, trying anything to take your mind off of the fact you're just waiting.
Your eyes keep wandering back to the door, half-expecting for him to just show up. And every time the door opens and it's not him, a little flicker of doubt creeps in, making you question if the email actually was him.
Honestly, it was starting to get a little embarrassing. Thinking maybe you've let yourself get swept up into some fantasy in your head. That a CEO would have time out of his day to set up a consultation with you, even if you were ridiculously talented in your field. A billion-dollar company doesn't just up and switch developers like that, not when you're very aware of their more than capable staff.
You can’t help the little pang of disappointment as you push yourself up from the booth, barely halfway to your feet, when the door swings open. Yuji walks in, and his eyes lock on you. Your stomach twists, and you force a small, nervous smile—but your chest feels impossibly heavy. Because there he is. After all these years. Standing right in front of you.
It’s really him. And no matter how hard you try to shove the thoughts aside, you can’t stop staring. His white dress shirt clings to every curve of his muscular arms, the black tie sitting perfectly against his broad chest. His pink hair, which was once always worn messy, now slicked back just right, making it impossible not to notice how sharp his jawline looks, how effortlessly commanding he seems. Fuck... he's so hot.
You blink away the thought, what the hell am I thinking right now?
"I wasn't sure you'd make it." You admit, the words slipping out before you can stop them.
Yuji rubs the back of his neck, looking a little sheepish, "Yeah... sorry about that. I didn't mean to run so late." HIs lips turn upward slightly, "Essentially after saying I wouldn't waste your time."
You huff out a quiet little laugh, lifting your coffee to your lips.
"Wouldn't be the first time you've been late."
He's fully smiling now, "Guess some things never change."
“I wouldn’t say never change,” you tease, “I mean… you’re Mr. CEO now. Pretty big change to me.”
“Not as big as you making a name for yourself in your career,” he shoots back, grinning.
“No… I’m pretty sure CEO is still way bigger,” you counter with a laugh, earning one from him in return.
“Bigger isn't always better."
You give him a knowing look, and suddenly you’re both laughing too hard, trying—and failing—to keep it together, praying no one around is watching the two of you lose your shit like a couple of maniacs.
After a few deep breaths, you both start to settle. Yuji leans back slightly and asks, “So… do you think you could handle the revisions?”
“Well… depends,” you say, raising an eyebrow. “What exactly are you thinking?”
He hesitates for a second before blurting out, “Honestly? We’re probably going to need to gut the entire thing.”
Your jaw almost hits the table. Gut the entire thing? That’s… a month of solid work, at least. Maybe more. You had barely managed to squeeze him into your schedule, thinking it’d be minor tweaks. Rebuilding it from scratch? Lunacy. And yet, somehow, you find yourself saying,
“Uh… maybe I could get back to you on a later date? So we can meet… go over it properly?” You stumble over your words, cheeks heating. “It’s not that I’m blowing you off—it’s just… I’ve got a ton of stuff I really need to finish.”
He waves you off with a shrug, calm as ever. “No, I get it. Honestly, it’s way more than we could even discuss here anyway. Just send me the info when you can, okay? Don’t stress too much.”
He says it like you’re not in full-blown panic mode in your head, because how the hell are you supposed to pull this off?
"Thanks for understanding, really." You say, offering him a small smile as you excuse yourself.
Yuji watches you leave. Even after all these years, being near you still hits harder than it should, and the memory of how he just up and left twists in his gut.
And damn… here you are anyway. He can’t stop replaying the way your lips move around his name, the little flush that creeps up your cheeks when you get nervous. Thoughts he’s trying desperately to push aside, all while he subtly shifts, aware of the growing bulge in his pants.
God, I'm such a loser. He groans, adjusting his dick before finally standing up.
His phone vibrates against his leg and he pulls it out to see, Megumi. His best friend/personal assistant, it's either Megumi or nothing. Even when the guy drives him insane with his serious, brooding act, he puts on.
"What's up?" Yuji answers, only to be met with the full force of Megumi losing his shit.
“What's up!? Yuji! Have you looked around!? You’re everywhere! And not in a good way! I love you, bro, but the company is about to—”
Yuji holds the phone away from his ear, shaking his head. “Stop worrying so much. I’ve got it handled. I have a plan, just trust me.”
A long pause, a what Yuji would reference as a 'Megumi fit'. And then, "You've got to be fucking me right now."
"I mean... I could—"
"Yuji!" He snaps and Yuji can tell he's actually starting to get pissed.
“I know, I know. Just trust me, I swear it’ll work. If not… you can fire me or whatever.”
Megumi sighs in defeat, no longer having any fight left in him.
"Just don't be stupid."
“When have I ever done anything stupid?” Yuji says, grinning as the line clicks.

Megumi paces across the polished floor of Yuji's office, the faint squeak of his shoes echoing on every pivot. Yuji tries hard to ignore it, though he'd be lying if he said it wasn't starting to get on his nerves.
"We're so fucked," Megumi mutters, mostly to himself, dragging a hand through his dark hair. "Do you know how fucked we are? Nanami is going to wring our necks."
"Nanami can't touch us."
"Us?" Megumi stops dead in his tracks, slowly turning toward him. "CEO or not, my ass is cooked if this all goes to shit."
“Well it’s a good thing it’s not going to shit,” Yuji says easily, even though he can hear the bullshit in his own voice.
Megumi stares at him for a long moment, unimpressed.
"I swear to God, Itadori," he sighs, rubbing his temples now, "this plan you keep talking about better be baby Jesus himself coming down from heaven to save us all."
Yuji's laptop pings, drawing his attention.
It's an email from you:
Hey! I'm so sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Would you want to meet up at my place tonight?
He can still faintly hear Megumi having an existential crisis, when another message comes through:
Not in a weird way or anything... I just thought maybe we could catch up and talk about the revisions since it's so much. I'll even order us some food, so you don't have to worry.
Yuji can't help the smile that creeps onto his face. Even through the screen he can picture you, nervous, probably biting your lip, cheeks flushed pink while you overthink every word you typed.
Cute, too cute actually. Because now he's suddenly very aware of his hard dick throbbing in his slacks.
He shifts slightly, adjusting himself before replying:
Oh no, you're good. I'd love to catch up, honestly.
Maybe he's a little too eager to catch up, judging by the way his dick reacts to seeing your pretty face again.
A couple minutes later your reply comes in:
I'll send you the address, just send me your number. You can feel free to come whenever.
Yuji quickly sends back his number, then shuts his laptop pushing himself up from his desk.
“So,” he says nonchalantly, stretching his arms over his head, “turns out I’ve got plans. I’m gonna have to dip.”
Megumi raises an eyebrow immediately, suspicion written all over his face. "Plans?"
“What?” Yuji asks. “Is that shocking?”
“I mean, yeah. A little,” Megumi says dryly. “You don’t really do plans. You go to clubs and disappear for a few hours maybe, but that’s not the same.”
Yuji scoffs. “You’re acting like I just go around sleeping with tons of women.”
Megumi gives him a flat look.
“Well maybe if you’d stop going to clubs with freaks like Gojo, Suguru, and Sukuna all the time, you wouldn’t be all over the headlines right now,” he says pointedly. “You know those two make you look like a complete manwhore.”
"First of all," Yuji reaches for his suit jacket, "rude."
Megumi snorts, leaning back against the edge of the desk.
“Second of all,” Yuji continues, shrugging the jacket over his shoulders, “just because I hang around man sluts doesn’t automatically make me a man slut.”
"That's not how the public sees it though," he says. "You walk into a club with those three, the paparazzi don't exactly assume you're there just for drinks."
He pauses for a moment, thinking, before adding with a small smirk, “Also the paparazzi can barely tell the difference between a woman draped over your arm and a drunk Suguru hanging off you. So there’s not exactly a lot of rational thinking happening there.”
Yuji bursts out laughing, "Well, shouldn't that be Suguru's problem for being a light weight?"
"You'd think, but somehow him getting drunk off his ass, turned into our problem." He changes the subject, not wanting to think of drunken Suguru anymore. "Just hurry up and do whatever mysterious 'plans' you have. Please, nothing to get yourself in another headline."
“On it.” Yuji beams, already heading for the door. “You worry too much, you know that?”
"Get out of my office."
"It’s not even your—" Yuji cuts himself off when he catches the look on Megumi's twisted up face, barely managing to choke back a laugh.
He reaches for the door, pausing just long enough to say over his shoulder with a mischievous smirk. "Maybe give Nobara a call, help you relax a little."
Megumi is clearly fighting back a smile, even as he shoots daggers at him with his eyes.
"If you don't leave right now, Itadori, I'm about to be your next headline," but his facade cracks as a small laugh escapes him.
Yuji's laughing, shaking his head as he walks out into the hall.
Man... Nobara is about to have one hell of a night.
୨୧︶︶୨୧︶︶୨୧
Inviting Yuji over had felt like a completely rational idea when you first sent the message.
You realize now that was your first mistake, second to telling him that he can come 'whenever', because 'whenever' to Yuji is the equivalent of 'get in your car right now.' You learn this the hard way when your phone buzzes barely a minute later telling you he's on his way.
You're starting to notice a pattern between Yuji itadori, and you being stressed the hell out. Especially as you look around your house, the couch pillows all out of place, the throw blanket tossed off to the side, little things that didn't bother you five minutes ago, now have you scrambling around the house trying to fix every small detail.
And by some miracle, the food shows up before Yuji.
It buys you just enough time, barely, to throw everything together before he gets there. You rush around the kitchen setting out boxes of rice and plastic trays of assorted sushi across the island, hoping it at least looks somewhat put together.
The doorbell rings right as you finish—thank god. You open the door, only for Yuji to be greeted by the sight of you looking like you had just ran a 10k, you're out of breath and your hair slightly messy from rushing around.
His gaze quickly sweeps over you, leaving him giving you a crooked look, before peering ever so slightly past you like he's looking for something.
“Did I, uh…” his eyes are looking everywhere but you, “Interrupt anything?”
Heats rushes up your neck, making your cheeks feel like they're on fire.
“No!” you blurt, waving your hands out in front of you. “You weren't interrupting anything, I was just… trying to get everything ready.”
He gives a slow nod, clearly not fully convinced, but he doesn’t push it.
"Uh-huh," he says, and you step aside, letting him in.
“Mhm,” you say, forcing a smile as you lead him to the island, the takeout boxes and sushi platters spread out like you’d somehow planned it all.
You settle onto one of your cream-colored cushioned stools, and he leans against the opposite side of the island, his hip propped casually against the counter.
“Help yourself to whatever you want,” you say, picking out a sushi roll for yourself.
He grabs a box of rice, eating a couple of bites, before you ask, "So... how was living in another country?"
He shifts slightly, like he’s trying to find the right words, “It was good. Met a lot of really cool people and… stuff,” he adds with a shrug. “But it’s nice to be back home.”
You nod along, and he glances over at you. “And how’s life treating you?”
"Well," you finish chewing a bite of sushi. "I worked for the Zenin's for a while, at one of their big headquarters. Slowly worked my way up and then quit."
"You just quit... the Zenin's?"
"Yup," you say casually like it didn't take you months to build up the courage. "I wanted to shorten my hours," you laugh a humorless laugh, "not sure if I got what I wished for though."
He just watches you, studying the way you drift into your own thoughts as you talk about your life.
"I'm really grateful though, not everyone gets to do their dream job."
"You're only busy because you're so smart." He says, meeting your eyes, "Always have been."
"Definitely over-selling me, but thanks," you say with a small smile. "So..." you trail off, "about that whole 'gutting the whole system-'"
He cuts you off. “Actually, that’s not why I wanted to see you.”
"What do you mean?"
“Like…” He pauses, searching for words. “I do need your help… but not with programming.”
"Okay..." you mutter, confused by how you could be useful for anything else.
"I'm not sure if you know, you probably do, but my company isn't doing well. Honestly," he rubs the back of his neck, "it's on the verge of going to complete shit, and it's all on me, because of the paparazzi and their bullshit stories about me sleeping with every woman I meet."
"I’ve seen a few articles," you reply, tilting your head. "But… I’m still a little confused on how I could help you with that."
He hesitates, like he’s gathering courage, then finally blurts, "Would you… attend a few events with me? Just until all of this dies down."
"Like… a couple?" You raise an eyebrow, staring at him like he might have lost it. "Did they drug you to get you to come back home or something?"
He shakes his head, voice almost pleading. "I’m serious. I’m here now because if the stakeholders pull out, we’re screwed." He runs a hand through his hair, the faint shadows under his eyes now glaringly obvious, "I know it's out of the blue, but you're not just some nobody. People know you, at least people that matter."
You snort, a little incredulous. "Me? I know people know me, but I’m not a public figure. I don’t really matter… not like that."
He shakes his head, confidently saying, "that’s where you’re wrong. People wouldn’t expect you to be with some asshole fuckboy," he adds, "which, in turn, makes me look like I’m not a complete sleaze. Which I’m not." He emphasizes the last part like it really matters.
"I’ll do it," he starts to thank you, but you cut him off. "But I want one thing in return."
He looks at you like you could ask him to move the sun and moon. "Anything. Promise. Name it, it’s yours."
"I have this big project I've been working on." you glance away for a moment, suddenly feeling a bit shy. "a passion project if I'm being honest."
He tilts his head, studying you, curiosity flickering in his eyes. "Go on."
"It’s going to take a bit of funding," you continue, "and even with all the work I’ve done, it’s not something I can pull off on my own—not without backing, maybe even extra help." You meet his gaze again, steady this time. "As a CEO, you have resources… connections. If you could help me then I’m in."
For a heartbeat, he just stares at you like you’d handed him the easiest favor in the world. "Deal. Honestly though… I’d do that for you even if we weren’t making a deal."
You blink, caught off guard. "...You would?"
He shrugs, casual, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world to him. "Of course I would. You’re amazing at what you do."
You're at a complete loss, leaving you fumbling for words like an idiot.
He can't help but notice just how flustered you are, cheeks flushed, the way your eyes refuse to meet him now. The sight alone has him mentally cursing at how it's even possible to get hard so many times in a single day.
"Thinking about it, you were always the smartest in any class we had together." He puts more weight against the counter, settling in. "Just not a surprise you're still dreaming bigger" he gestures around the room. "Most people would call it quits here, said they've made it. I think that's something I've always admired about you though, something I don't see in myself."
You let out a breathless laugh, suddenly feeling dizzy from being this close to him. "Yeah, you're definitely over-selling me."
"Never, I only speak the truth." A small smirk tugs at his lips and your heart skips a beat.
You should be laughing, a total giggling mess, but it’s impossible, the heat pooling between your legs, thighs pressing together as you fight to stay composed while he talks.
“Mhm,” you murmur, struggling to shove every dirty thought out of your head. “You're a good friend.”
Now you’re certain he’s doing it on purpose, not even bothering to hide the smirk anymore when he asks, "So you'll go with me tomorrow night, to the charity dinner?”
“Charity dinner?” You feel like you've been whiplashed. “Tomorrow night? I have nothing to wear.”
“Psh. I'm sure you have something, there's no way you don't. Girls always have tons of clothes.” You raise an eyebrow at him and he straightens, deciding to zip it for now.
“Not all girls have tons of clothes,” he nods along, conceding. “But I do have… a few things. I guess if I had to.”
“I promise, anything you put on will look amazing,” he says, smooth as ever. You know he's only trying to make you confident, so that you'll go to the dinner with him, but even knowing that, your chest tightens, heart thudding in protest.
“Fine, but you have to stop putting me on the spot like this,” you huff, trying to sound annoyed, and the cuteness of it alone has Yuji counting down the minutes until he leaves, pre-cum already leaking from his reddened tip.
He tilts his head, like he's absolutely clueless. “Whatever you say, beautiful.”
You blush, heat rushing right to where you need him most. “Yuji!”
“What? I'm just practicing, we have to sell it, you know.”
“Get out!” You wave him toward the door. “Just text me the details. I… I can’t deal with you right now.”
He bites back a laugh, smirking. “Okay, okay. Fine, but I’ll be back tomorrow night.”
You nod, practically herding him to the door. “Sounds good. I’ll see you then.”
He's still laughing softly at how adorable you are when you're flustered, and even as he leaves to make it easier on you, part of him wants to stay a little longer, just to watch how cute you get when you're worked up.
As the door shuts behind him, images of your flushed cheeks flash through his mind. Soft pink cheeks he imagines would look the same if his face was buried between your plush thighs, the sound of your breathing hitching and soft whimpers spilling out as he drags his tongue over your pretty cunt.
He gets in his car, hardly remembering the walk down from your apartment building to the parking garage.
Just like he can't remember how his slacks got undone, cock in his hand, stroking it as he lets out breathy moans.
He wonders how soft your lips would feel wrapped around him, your tongue tracing slowly along his length. The thought alone makes him throb in his hand, his flustered tip begging for release.
He picks up the pace now, barely aware of anything around him, so drunk on the thought of you that he finds himself whimpering, thrusting up into his hand.
All he can see is you, hair a mess, lips plump and swollen from kissing, face pressed into the mattress as he pushes into—
“O-oh f-fuck.” His cock is throbbing now, squirting thick ropes of cum into his hand. What the actual fuck just happened?
Did he just prematurely cum!? What is he, a hormonal teenager?
He groans, letting his head hit the back of the headrest. “…yup, definitely a loser.”
୨୧︶︶୨୧︶︶୨୧
“You're not serious right now,” Megumi looks over at Yuji like he's finally lost it. “She’s why you made me sit in the back?”
Yuji doesn't look at him, long fingers tapping against the steering wheel, as he waits for you to come out. "You'll be fine."
Megumi is quite literally throwing a fit in the backseat—arms crossed tight, glaring holes into the back of Yuji's head. He spent the entire ride crammed into the backseat of Yuji's Porsche, because he insisted they had to go 'pick up part of the plan'. What Yuji conveniently left out was that the plan has a name, a pulse, and is currently walking down from her apartment building.
You haven't spotted them yet, too many cars lining the street, your attention shifting as you glance around for Yuji's car. He told you what his car looked like, so you at least had that to go by.
Meanwhile, Yuji watches you as you scan over the line of cars again before spotting his. He stills, grip tightening just slightly on the wheel as his breath catches.
Megumi on the other hand is watching him and it's painful. His eyes roll so far back they might actually get stuck there, head tipping back against the headrest like he's already checked out of this entire situation.
“You better not be getting bricked up right now,” he says flatly. “Or I’m out.”
“I’m not getting bricked up,” Yuji snaps, the words coming out in a hurried whisper so you won’t hear just as you open the car door, sliding into the seat, smiling brightly.
“Hey, Yuji,” you say to him before glancing back. “And…?”
“Megumi,” he offers.
“He's my friend and assistant,” Yuji adds, filling you in.
“Oh. Nice to meet you, Megumi.” You say introducing yourself as well.
"Yeah, nice to meet you too." He says, short, clipped, though he gives you somewhat of a smile.
You look back ahead, figuring maybe he just takes awhile to warm up to people.
Yuji sneaks a quick look at you. “You look really good.” Your long, fitted burgundy dress hugs your figure, showing off your shoulders and collarbone perfectly.
“Thank you,” you smile. “You do too.”
You shift a little awkwardly in your seat. “So… anything special I need to do?”
He shrugs. “Just be yourself. That alone will sell it. And if you get nervous, just follow my lead.”
Megumi can't resist chiming in. “In other words… the fate of everything rests in this dumbass’s hands.”
Yuji shoots him a playful glare. “I hope you know this dumbass is about to save us.”
“So I've heard.”
“Guessing Nobara didn’t come by then?” Yuji teases, and Megumi flushes bright red, shooting upright in his seat.
“Yuji! Oh my god, what the hell is wrong with you? Do you even have a filter!?"
You bite back a laugh, watching the two of them bicker.
“You know,” Yuji adds, grinning, “if you’re too nervous to ask, I could always wingman for you—”
Before he can finish, Megumi shoots forward, slapping a hand over Yuji’s mouth without somehow wrecking the car in the process, a miracle truly.
Yuji licks his hand and he jerks it back, his face twisted in disgust.
“What the fuck, man!?” He wipes his hands on his pants, trying to get the feeling off.
“You asked for it,” Yuji says, nonchalantly. “Plus it’s only fair, since you could’ve killed us back there.”
“Me!?” Megumi protests, “You’re going to give me a stroke with all the crazy shit that comes out of your mouth.”
You can't hold back your laugh any longer, fighting invisible battles just to keep yourself from giggling like a complete maniac. Meanwhile, they're so wrapped up in themselves that they don't even notice the girl beside them damn near entering grippy sock land.
Suddenly, almost in sync they turn to look at you. “Are you good?”
You choke back another laugh, nodding and trying to gather yourself. “Mhm, perfectly fine.” You glance between them, biting your lip to keep from giggling again. “And… you guys?”
Now both of them are blushing, clearly trying to play it cool and act like that wasn't a whole 'thing'.
“Oh, I'm fine too,” Yuji says first.
“Yeah, me too. Never been better, actually.” Megumi glances at Yuji, the expression practically screaming I just one-upped you, motherfucker.
Yuji shoots him a look. “Actually, I feel better than better.”
“That doesn't even make sense-”
By now, you're pulling up in front of the massive building, its frame stretching endlessly into the sky. The only indication of it having an end comes from the golden lights tracing the rooftop's edge, spilling over just enough to catch your eye. Even from down here, they're stunning, and you can only imagine how extravagant it must look up there.
Yuji pulls up to the front where a valet waits. He hands over the keys, and the three of you step out, moving toward the entrance.
Inside, the lobby’s polished floors are almost reflective, and the faint hum of the elevator echoes through the space. You take it all in, trying your best to calm the fluttering nerves in your stomach. You knew the place was nice, but not this nice. Not when every surface gleams in shades of cream and marbled patterns, leaving you certain you're underdressed.
Yuji notices and gives your hand a small squeeze. “You got this,” he mouths.
When you finally reach the rooftop, a man takes coats at the door, and Yuji and Megumi hand over their suit jackets. A waitress glides by, flawless and polite.
“Itadori and Fushiguro party?” she asks courteously.
Yuji nods, answering her follow-ups before guiding you to two tables set next to each other.
“You know we could’ve picked Nobara up,” Yuji says to Megumi, as you slide into a chair at his table.
You let your eyes wander around the room, noticing most tables are set with two chairs, clearly meant for guests and their plus-ones, but a few larger tables are scattered throughout the open space, surrounded by extra seating. Each one is dressed in a red tablecloth, the fabric etched with a delicate, lighter pattern that mimics the look of lace.
"It's not a big deal, really." Megumi reassures, trying not to make it something bigger than it is.
"Still," Yuji says, "If you ever need anything like that, just let me know."
Megumi's expression softens, "Thanks, really." His eyes sweep around the room before he gestures behind him, "I think I'm gonna go see what's going on, maybe talk to some people while I'm waiting for Nobara."
Megumi excuses himself, weaving through the crowd, and Yuji slides into the chair across from you.
“Finally, back to my beautiful date,” he says, flashing a smile that has you fighting for air.
"You think they have wine here?" You blurt before you can stop yourself.
You know Yuji’s just doing what he has to… but dear god, why does he have to be sexy while doing it?
He thinks for a moment, “How about I go find some? I'll be right back."
As he walks off you look around a bit more, trying and failing to distract yourself from the gnawing nerves coiling in your stomach. There's some couples and colleagues that you notice right away occupying some nearby tables, while small groups of people are scattered around the rooftop. You even spot Megumi, deep in conversation with a blonde man you don't recognize, his usual aloofness replaced by a look of pure distress.
Beside Megumi and the blonde man, a few others are gathered together. One has long black hair that immediately catches your eye, making you silently wonder what the hell he does to keep it looking like that. Next to him stands a tall man with messy white hair—you instantly recognize him as Satoru Gojo, the famous model. Honestly, you’re a little surprised to see him here. He’s definitely worth the hype, plastered on nearly every billboard in the country. But he’s most notorious for his more risqué, adult photoshoots. Finally, there's a man with spiky pink hair, his arms covered in tattoos. The pink-haired man catches your gaze as you're looking at him, making your cheeks immediately flare, mortified that he probably thinks you were checking him out.
A few moments later, he makes his way over to the table, and you wish you could just melt into the chair, silently begging for Yuji to hurry back.
“Not sure I’ve seen you before,” he says, glancing at the name in the middle of the table. “With Itadori?” His smirk is smug.
“Yeah, I’m his date, actually.” You try for a polite smile, but the way his eyes rake over you has you squirming in your seat.
“Not sure I’ve seen Itadori with a date before.”
That catches your attention. “Really?”
He shrugs casually. “I mean, we hang out a lot, and I’ve just never seen him actually… commit to a girl.”
You let those words linger in your mind, 'actually commit'.
Finally Yuji swoops in, a couple glasses of wine in his hands, sliding one into yours.
“For my beautiful girl.” God, he really has to say things like that. "Sukuna! Man, it's great to see you here. Thought you couldn't make it?"
Sukuna offers a tight smile. “Had some last-minute changes… kinda glad I did.” His gaze flicks to you as he says it.
Yuji glances between the two of you, disbelief written all over his face. There’s no way he was doing this in front of him, not right here, not to his girl.
Not that you’re actually his girl… fuck, maybe he should’ve held off on a few drinks before bringing you the wine.
“I think someone was looking for you, over there.” He gestures vaguely toward a corner of the rooftop.
Sukuna's not stupid, he knows exactly what Yuji's doing, but since they're at a public event, he plays it cool. "Yeah, for sure. Thanks for giving me the heads up and nice meeting you." He looks over to you again, giving you a quick wink before slipping away.
“Fuck, that asshole better be lucky we’re not actually together.” He mutters under his breath, but his fists are clenched.
You stare at him, caught off guard by how blunt he was, half wondering if he even meant for you to hear. You blink, your pretty lashes fluttering in a way that has his simmering anger, dissolving in an instant.
“It’s okay, Yuji. I’m sure he didn’t mean anything… probably just being nice.” Even you knew it was a lie, it was obvious he was hitting on you. Not even trying to hide that sly wink that nearly had Yuji losing it.
He snorts, “Him just being nice? Nah.”
“Yeah… but he’s not really my type anyway.”
“Not really mine either,” he murmurs, earning a soft laugh from you.
“Wasn’t too sure.”
“Hey!” He gives you a fake little pout that has you covering your mouth trying to muffle your laugh.
Before either of you can say anything else, the waitress who seated you earlier comes around the corner, balancing a tray of entrees with practiced ease. She sets one down in front of you, then Yuji, and you both offer a quick thanks.
There’s a low crackle from the speakers as someone adjusts the microphone at the front of the venue, the sound cutting through the hum of conversation. You look over your shoulder, only half paying attention until you actually see who’s standing on stage. Your stomach drops, because you know him. Not just vaguely either, you know him well.
Naoya Zenin, your old boss.
You have to physically fight the urge to sink under the table, because why the hell is he the speaker? The man doesn’t have a charitable bone in his body.
You turn back to Yuji, not even trying to hide the desperate, pleading look in your eyes.
“What’s up?” He whispers, leaning in. You flick your eyes toward the stage and he follows your gaze, his eyes widening at the sudden realization. “Oh, shit.”
“Okay, so you know how I told you I just quit…” You bite your lip, and the nerves come rushing back, alcohol doing nothing to dull them. “Well… that was sort of true, except for the part where I kind of just left without saying anything, and haven’t seen him since.” You barely catch your breath, the words tumbling out in a rush.
“I mean… that does make more sense, but fuck, this isn’t good.” He runs a hand through his hair.
“Maybe I could just slip out before he even notices I’m here?”
He takes your hand gently, “stay, please. He can’t try anything here, it’s too public. And if he does, he’s going to have to deal with me first.”
You know he’s being sweet, but honestly, you don’t have much confidence there’s anything Yuji could do. Once Naoya sets his sights on taking someone down, it doesn’t matter who the fuck you are. Status, wealth, none of it matters. He’s ruthless. Just thinking about the way you undermined him makes your skin crawl. What’s worse is knowing he’s been waiting for the perfect moment, because he never just ‘lets things go’. He’s always calculating, always thinking three steps ahead.
“I don’t know…” You trail off, your eyes drifting back to Naoya and immediately, his gaze snaps to yours.
Fuck.
You lift your glass, taking a sip of wine to calm yourself down, your hands trembling slightly as your stomach twists. Yuji gives you a sympathetic look, before looking back at Naoya, his disdain for the man already building. There wasn’t much the two of you could do besides hoping the rest of the event goes by quickly. And for the most part, it does. Even if it feels like hours to you, it’s only an hour of speeches and donations before everyone is back moving around again, talking to one another as the event begins to wind down.
You’re still scanning the room as the two of you stand up. Yuji slides his arms around your waist, his hold almost more protective than for show. You lean into him, and of course, it draws attention, everyone murmuring and casting curious glances your way.
“You’re doing so good,” he whispers in your ear, his breath warm against your skin.
You swallow hard, almost getting caught up in Yuji, but then, out of the corner of your eye, you see him—Naoya—walking toward you, eyes locked on yours.
Everything in your body screams to go, to run and hide anywhere far away from here.
Yuji’s eyes sweep over you, taking in your panic, before snapping to Naoya. His jaw tightens, and his breathing deepens, tension coiling through him as his gaze hardens.
Naoya saunters closer, every step deliberate. His eyes are trained on you, your name rolling off his tongue like venom. “Didn’t think I’d see you around anytime soon.” His tone is casual, but the weight behind it makes it clear it’s anything but.
“Mr. Zenin,” you force a polite smile, though your hands tremble slightly. “It’s been a while… How's the business?”
He lets out an exaggerated yawn, rolling his eyes. “Cut the shit. You don’t give a fuck about my business, just like I don’t care about yours.”
You flinch at his words. Yuji’s arm tightens around your waist. “Watch how you’re talking to her, Naoya,” he says, the edge in his voice leaving no room for argument. Formalities are gone, Yuji doesn’t care about giving a damn about showing respect to some arrogant prick.
“Stay out of this, Itadori,” Naoya snaps, his glare sharp enough to make most people apologize and grovel on their knees.
“No.” Yuji loosens his hold on you just enough to step an inch closer to Naoya, his voice low but firm. “I’m not going to ‘stay out of it.’”
You can tell just by looking at him that Naoya is absolutely seething, holding back only because they’re in public.
“You don’t want to mess with me, Itadori. You’ll find out quickly what happens.”
Yuji just laughs in his face, “Yeah, okay. I’d like to see you try. You can’t do shit to me.”
“Tch.” Naoya’s hands clench into fists. “See you around, Itadori.” He shoots one last glare in your direction, and the hatred in his eyes is enough to make you feel sick to your stomach.
As soon as you’re certain he’s gone, you let out a shaky breath, finally feeling like you can breathe again.
“Oh, god. I’m so sorry, Yuji. I didn’t mean to drag you into my mess.”
He looks at you, puzzled. “Why are you apologizing? I already brought you into my mess.”
For some reason, you hadn’t even considered that, and a little relief washes over you knowing it’s not just you caught up in all this drama.
“I just… don’t want to make things worse instead of better.”
“Literally impossible,” he says, looking down at you, his eyes locking with yours. For a fleeting second, you swear his gaze drifts to your lips.
“So…”
“Want to get out of here?”
You nod, like he read your thoughts. God, you wanted to be anywhere but here, especially after Naoya practically tainted your night just by showing up.
The two of you slip out, making your way to the elevator as discreetly as possible. Yuji even manages to get a quick word to Megumi that you’re dipping early, and Megumi just shrugs, saying he’s riding home with Nobara anyway. That little exchange causes a slight delay, giving Yuji an excuse to dab him up before the two of you finally make your escape.
Outside, a swarm of paparazzi waits, cameras raised and ready. Somehow, neither of you thought about the exit of a big event like this would be crawling with them. Dumb, really. But here you are, cameras already flashing rapidly, and well, attention was kind of the whole point.
You wrap your arms around Yuji, clinging to his side. He glances down at you, a little surprised, but quickly recovers, his arm instinctively sliding around your waist to pull you close.
As you're walking, you lean your head against him, the paparazzi still snapping shots, some flashes having you questioning if you’re going to be permanently blind by the end of it. And beside you a few journalists are yelling, “Itadori! Who’s this girl?”
“Itadori, over here! Is this your girl you brought to the event?” They all push forward against each other, desperate to be the first one to get the inside scoop.
“No questions, please. You all know I like keeping my personal life just that. But…” Every camera zooms in, microphones straining to catch every word. “This woman right here? This beautiful girl? She’s my girlfriend.”
You look up at him, eyes wide, struggling to contain your shock. Something about actually hearing him say the words, fake or not, felt too real. Turning back to the reporters, you give them a shy smile that has them screaming to know more about this ‘mystery’ woman, while Yuji guides you toward the valet. His Porsche is already pulled up, and he opens the door for you. Camera flashes, never ceasing even as he walks over to get into the driver's seat.
As the car door clicks shut behind Yuji, the weight off your shoulders finally lifts a bit. The tinted windows offer a small comfort, keeping the world and prying eyes out for a while.
“You okay?” he asks, glancing over at you.
You nod. “Wasn’t too bad, but I never realized how intense it is, getting swarmed by people with cameras.”
“Yeah, it takes a while to get used to,” he says, shifting gears and easing the car into traffic.
Even as you try to focus on the ride, your mind keeps drifting back to Naoya Zenin.
“It’s that prick, isn’t it? Your old boss?” he asks, briefly flicking his eyes to you before returning his gaze to the road.
“I'm just a little worried… the way he looked at me, it was pure hatred.”
“If he does anything to hurt you, lays a hand on you—”
“That’s not even what I’m worried about.” You bite your lip, looking away. “Maybe… can we just talk about something else?”
“Anything you want,” he says softly, only wanting to make you comfortable.
You lean back, resting your head against the headrest, closing your eyes for a moment. “Promise… this time, after all this mess is over, you won’t leave me again.”
The drinks earlier must finally be hitting, or maybe it’s just the relief of having a moment to breathe, a pause from performing, because you don’t even know how the words came out.
He swallows, glancing over at you, nearly dozing off. How did you even manage that? To fall asleep in just a minute?
He knows you probably won’t hear—or remember—but he still whispers, “Promise. I’m never leaving you again.”
